Andy is a girl that's a tomboy, and has the attitude of a gay guy, so in a lot of ways it just makes sense for him to be referred to as such. Otters are so androgynous they can get away with it.

I wasn’t a fan of the stereotypical gay personality but she being a girl with the “punk” vibe I like. If it turns out to be trans I wouldn’t be into it. I’m not transphobic I’m just not sexually into it (and that’s ok).

Though that is just based on my memory from a stream chat from a while ago. So take it with a grain of salt.
