Leika Animation
Added 2021-07-29 16:48:21 +0000 UTCDecided to do a quick animation of a past sketch, trying out Clip Studio Paint's animation tools. Actually had a good time with this! I realize it's just values, but it still reads pretty well. I can tell my animation skills are kinda rusty, so this isn't living up to my standards... but I did my best!
Included the GIF and a high quality video file that loops several times.

2021-07-30 06:40:06 +0000 UTCOh I'm not new to animation, just kinda been a while. This was done on 3s so I wouldn't even inbetween it unless I wanted to slow it down. As for the frame rate, I definitely prefer 2s and 3s for hand drawn over 1s because it has more clarity and charm to it

Other than coloring, a higher frame rate, maybe? Can you ‘cheat’ and insert a new frame in between two existing ones without having to redraw the whole new frame?

2021-07-29 17:12:01 +0000 UTCAh, that animation is a bit old! Same kinda method tho, although I had a little easier time in some ways working on this in Clip vs TVPaint, but in other ways it was very manual. Maybe next time I'll do a hybrid approach
