I don’t think this scene was about integrity and he wasn’t entirely wrong either, it’s just that his execution was a bit rash, seeing Rick and Hershel dragging walkers like flock was the tipping point

He showed excellent who he is. That was a show to have people see Rick is going to get people killed. He wants to be Rick, he wants his wife, kid, the group and he wants the farm. Shane is a wildcard and more dangerous then the walkers.
