I don’t want to put words in Burnie and Ashley’s mouths, but I think when they repeated the “jOkE” they were bringing it up because even in the current political climate it’s absolutely insane that a political rally had someone go on stage and read racist garbage off a teleprompter in plain English. It also seemed to me that the follow up hypothetical scenario of coming up with a way to tank Hitler’s election was a not so subtle way of comparing Hitler and Trump. I doubt very much that anything Burnie and Ashely said was meant to be disrespectful, and I believe they were tactfully throwing jabs at both the “cOmeDiAN” and Trump. This election cycle has been rough on many of us. Make sure you vote. We can win this

The recent episode of your podcast deeply hurt me, especially hearing you dismiss the RNC convention “joke” that Puerto Rico is a floating pile of garbage. My people were literally called trash, yet your comments heavily leaned towards highlighting it was merely a ‘bombed’ joke, rather than recognizing it as a genuine racial attack. Moreover, the choice to repeat the “joke” multiple times throughout the episode (even without mentioning Puerto Rico directly - and I genuinely know you don’t share that mindset) came across as a disingenuous attempt to make light of it. I apologize for the following harsh statement, but you haven’t earned the right to trivialize this racial attack, especially while many Puerto Ricans like myself are still working to process it. I know both of you can be respectful, particularly when you show so much respect towards the complex Middle Eastern conflict. I just wished you were as respectful towards us - who have also lived through a deeply complex conflict (read War Against All Puerto Ricans for reference). The Morning Podcast coin I bought to support your launch now feels heavy and bitter in my hand.

I started volunteering at my local election and I think a lot of people prefer day of. Plus, in my county, the BOE location is the only place you can early vote and it’s the worst location with the worst parking lot and there’s tons of campaigners outside the line. So as a non-confrontational millennial, I hate it but I’d rather get it done that try to make time while I’m volunteering. Also headphones and trying to be unapproachable doesn’t work. The campaigners there are a different breed.

In my twenties and I went to the polls the day the voting period opened in my state!

Missouri is doing early voting. We are just still calling in absentee voting for some strange reason.
