Goblins + Gratitude + March Recap

Goblins (beta readers)
I've had success with three beta readers, and I've been using them since I had to rewrite the bakeoff's ending. Goblin Aaron's feedback helped me realize my mistakes and pointed me in the right direction at the time. Since then, I invite select readers to scurry around the unedited beta chapters; and I'll make significant changes if necessary.
Conditions to become a Goblin:
- When you read a chapter, I’ll need you to provide feedback. Brief or detailed doesn’t matter—I only care about the quality of your thoughts.
- Reading frequency roughly every other day at least when Beta chapters are out.
- I’ll send an email through betabooks.co. If you don’t want to register to the website, you can’t be a Goblin.
Goblin Perks:
- All my unedited backlog (40+ chapters) distributed in batches.
- Improved and fully responsive reading experience.
- Give me enough good feedback and you can unsub from my Patreon and keep reading on betabooks. That’s the Hobgoblin promotion.
How to Apply:
- The following are the guidelines I share at the end of every chapter with the current Goblins. Use them to comment the past or the next chapter. After, comment down below to apply as a Goblin:
Beta Readers Guidelines:
First of all, feel free, if not obligated, to communicate your unfiltered emotions. BOREDOM IS VALID! Happiness is valid. Whatever you are feeling, there’s no arguing with it. Tell me at the end of each chapter how you felt—if you want, you can elaborate on the why.
I have extremely thick skin and I’d rather have your unfiltered, scathing - but honest - feedback than polite but unuseful.
Other than how you feel, I would like you to consider these five questions at each chapter. Please do not feel obligated to reply to each every time nor to force it. After reading the chapter, just take a minute to review them and have them help you think about the chapter.
- Was there anything you found confusing or hard to believe?
- Was there anything in the chapter you are curious about and looking forward to?
- Were any parts of the chapter dragging/slow?
- Imagine being a picky reader; what could have irritated you while reading?
- After reading the chapter, what would it be if you could change anything about the story and the writing, chapter-level or story-level?

Gratitude
First of all, thank you so much to my amazing beta readers, aka Goblins! Then, I would also like to thank the readers more in general for the support and nice words.
Casual Heroing is a great passion of mine. It's a dream for me to be able to work on it every day.

March Recap
I have been very slow-writing during the first half of March because I was quite in the woods with the plotting. Before reaching the current shape of my plans, I had to discard several versions that my editor and I deemed subpar. We are talking around 5 versions discarded and each took more than 5 hours of plotting. From last thursday to this thursday, I wrote 0 words. That's how taken I was. Now, though, the plans have been laid out and I'm back writing.
Work on Read-y is proceeding slowly.
There's some more stuff cooking, but mostly on the backburner.
It seems nice to share something like this with those making it possible for me to be full-time writing. If you have any question, ask away.
Comments
Hello Fowl, I would be interested in being a beta reader if you are still looking for others. I have done similar work for another author in exchange for advanced access to their writing. I read about 300 + pages a day on average and would be happy to provide feedback.

I think I would enjoy providing feedback when I have the time (I am a full-time grad student, so I understand if my inability to fully commit to replying on every post may exclude me from the ability to be a goblin)
