Devil In The Waters, Book 5, Chapter 1 (complete)
Added 2020-05-05 00:00:02 +0000 UTCIt hurt between her legs when she sat up in bed. She was slow to get to her feet—hands on her knees for support—but once she was up, walking wasn’t affected. No limp, no toddling, no pain. Some tenderness.
She left Josh in bed, walked in the predawn light into the bathroom, closed the door, sat on the toilet with knees pressed together and a hand over her mouth. She relaxed her muscles. The pee-tingle began and soon her bladder knotted, and she felt the tinkle coming. It burned, and she winced her eyes but at least didn’t cry out.
When it was done, she felt a dull pervasive ache throbbing from the interior of her canal and right up inside her, a threadlike tug on the knot in her navel. But she got up, turned and flushed. Brushed her teeth, lifting one foot off the floor, bending until the heel touched her butt. Alternated, doing the other leg. Stretching it out.
Then she was back in the bedroom, coming around Josh’s side of the bed. It might be a little too much to get down and kiss him while he slept, but she did want to.
If you lay it on too thick, it might make you seem suspicious.
But the feeling was genuine. And that gave her an idea.
Now she was padding down the hall and into the kitchen, getting her phone out, laying it on the counter. Putting on toast, boiling a kettle. While last night she had made a secret surreptitious phone call, the one this morning was of a kinder nature. She moved around into the foyer and hid behind the wall and peeped down the hall, dialed Meyer’s number. He answered, and she spoke quietly.
“What are you doing tonight?”
He told her he was doing nothing, and then she asked if he wanted to go out and have some fun with Josh and maybe a couple other people. He said he would like to. Then asked: “Like who else?” She said she didn’t know but she would call Steve, maybe get some of the people from Swanson. Meyer said, “What about that girl Quinn?” It took her a moment to remember who that was, but then he reminded her, saying she was the one with the kid named Harley. Right: the nurse.
She Ooh-la-la’d Meyer and he said, “No, it wasn’t like that.” She said she would be sure Quinn got an invitation when she spoke to Steve. Then the bad news.
“Do you have Sophie with you?”
“Yeah, she’s with me one more day.”
“Shoot—do you think you can get a sitter?”
“You want to go late?”
“I thought we would have some fun. Maybe have some drinks and stay out late, yeah . . .”
He exhaled, thinking about it. Probably thinking this would be his chance with Quinn. “Yeah,” he said, “maybe . . . There’s a family on the street here . . . I’ve never talk to them about watching Soph before . . . Gosh, I never use sitters whenever she’s with me . . .”
She said, “What about Hyun?”
“Yeah,” he said, draggy, still thinking about it, a creaky sound in his throat.
“Is that no good?”
“No, that could work . . . Shoot, though, Hyun won’t be home until after nine, and I’ll already be at work. If I could get Sophie there, Hyun would take her a day early without hesitation.”
“Hyun’s working an overnight?”
“She is.”
“And you need Soph there after nine?—Maybe I could . . .”
“What—you’d take Soph to Hyun?”
“Let me come get her now, I’ll take her out for breakfast. Once Hyun gets home I’ll drop Sophie off.”
“Won’t you be late for work?”
“I will, but my hours are flexible. Plus I gotta go into the city, not the office anyway. I have an appointment at eleven . . .”

Shame was the first thing on his mind when he woke. He sat up, rubbing his face before that awful feeling settled on him too heavy, laying in bed looking out at the dismal sky. Best to be up and moving if you wanted to get away from it. But it was impossible to escape completely . . .
He passed into the bathroom, seeing Kimmy’s spot empty and getting a funny feeling. Like maybe Kimmy couldn’t sleep last night thinking later about all the weird things her husband’d said. Maybe she got up, was looking online for Weird things husbands say and what you should do about it.
He avoided his eyes in the mirror and replayed some of the things he’d asked his wife. Did Devlin have a big cock? . . . That was pretty much what he’d said. Hey, you know how you and I are having sex, and I hate Devlin and I’m really worried about him being in your life, why don’t I bring his dick up right at the worst time? Is that cool with you? You must think a lot of me right now. I know, don’t get too excited. Aw, baby, don’t worry, I’m already yours . . .
Kimmy had jerked him off and he’d asked his wife if she would say that she had been thinking about Devlin’s huge manhood. And Kimmy was reluctant. Reluctant until he pressed. And then she played along. Sure Josh, I often think about that big dick. The one he humped against me . . .
But see, there: that was arousing.
Of course she wouldn’t think of Devlin that way. The guy forced himself on her. That wasn’t arousing. Or maybe it was? How well did he know women? But it wasn’t women at play here. It was one woman. Kimmy. Kimmy didn’t like being held down and humped.
But apparently didn’t hate it enough to never work for the man . . .
He growled now, mad at his own annoying irresoluteness, his inability to settle his thoughts on one idea. The perpetual self-doubt, self-loathing, worry, and angst was killing him. Just let it go . . .
Or talk to her. As much as it pained him to flash to Kimmy some of his weakness, what had happened last night had worked at stitching the imaginary tears. He’d cracked open his door to let some air in, and Kimmy got a peep into his unkempt room. She was supportive . . .
Or was it just sympathy?
He tossed his toothbrush into the standup container where it rattled. Wiped his face, looked at his reflection. It was a one time thing. I don’t know what came over me, Kimmy, I just had this weird thing I wanted to hear.
When she’d come back to bed, he let what he’d said go. Put it behind him. And she hadn’t mentioned it either. Best to leave it behind.
Now he was on the prowl and looking for his wife. Passing through the bedroom, going out into the hall. Disappointed to find her in the foyer, ready to head out.
“You’re going in already?”
Kimmy was dressed in a black suit, showered already. He’d slept through it.
It was a grim and gray day out there, with the threat of rain. So over her black suit, she wore a light crinkly black overcoat that came down to her knees. She was shrugging her arms into it, hair tied back in its bun, an entire square piece of plain toast held between her teeth. With one arm shoved through, she waved her fingers at him, and managed to smile around the piece of bread. He came to her, and she shoved her hands out of the sleeves, plucked away the toast, and kissed near his cheek. “Good morning,” she said.
“You sneaking out on me?”
“I’m going to go in early,” she said. “There’s so much I have to do today, and I’d like to get it all done so I can be home at not-so-late an hour.”
Boom. First thing in the morning, first thing out of his wife’s mouth reminds him of Devlin. “You’re not going out after work with Devlin tonight?” . . . Keeping it light, not so accusatory in his tone. But the message itself was clear: I’m still sore about what happened.
Kimmy deflected it, saying, “You’ll be glad to hear there is no Devlin in my life at all today. He’s out in Kingston.” Now she came and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, kissed his other cheek. She said near his ear, “Unless maybe that’s not what you want to hear.”
His stomach flinched. What was that supposed to mean? Was that a reference to his dirty talk last night?
She stepped back, said nothing more of it, and his scalp tingled, his fingers went to pins and needles considering what she said. Was that what she’d meant? Did Kimmy think he liked to hear about her with Devlin? He didn’t. No fucking way he did. Don’t get this twisted, Kimmy.
As she gathered her things, getting her keys and her briefcase, he was thinking now he was sure it was. He was at once offended and yet also aroused. Mad that Kimmy was still thinking about it. But glad she was still thinking about it—and for some reason curious if she was going to inject this into their sex life now.
But wasn’t that a bad thing? What if she got home tonight and they started getting frisky with each other, and she starts whispering bad things about Devlin in his ear. Well, shoot, he would love it. But then wouldn’t she start thinking of Devlin that way? What if you’re just putting this stuff in her head? The first thing she’s going to think about the next time she sees Devlin is the size of his penis. You did that, Josh. That’s on you. You put that in her head. You put it in her head, and there’s no taking it out now.
Shit, Josh, maybe for once maybe you could just enjoy it . . . Have you thought about that? Kimmy’s not exactly trying to escape out of the apartment now, is she? Not so turned off by your weird thoughts that she needs to get away from you this morning. Maybe she’d like to play around a little with some kinky ideas . . .
One step at a time.
“What do you have to do?”
“This morning? I’ve got a meeting right downtown on Front Street with Border Services at ten-fifteen. But there’s a bunch of stuff I have to do first, so I want to go by the office on my way in. Then in the afternoon it’s—”
He waved her off. “You don’t have to check everything with me,” he said, worried now his theatrics last night would make Kimmy verify everything with him. It would lead to resentment.
“I don’t feel like I’m checking in, Josh,” she said, eyes half-lidded, eyebrows raised calmly. “I’m an open book.”
“Go to work,” he said, “maybe I’ll sleep in.”
She smiled, looked him up and down, from messy bedhead to PJ pants and bare feet. “Calling in sick today?”
“Never,” he said, joined her at the front door. “I’ve got important things going on too, big shot.” He opened the door, pulled her close and kissed her neck.
“See you after work,” she said, tapped his cheek lightly with her piece of toast, one half-moon bit out of the corner now. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” he said, and watched her walk to the elevator.
He couldn’t let her think he liked to hear about her and Devlin. Couldn’t bring dirty talk about her and Devlin into their sex life. It would push Kimmy’s thoughts in that direction. Any dirty fantasy he revealed could become license for her to flirt with Devlin at work. And if Kimmy flirted, Devlin could respond. These awful, lusty thoughts he had could hurt Kimmy. He had to stop being selfish . . .
***
Three driveways down from Meyer’s townhouse, she stared at her phone, thumb hovering and ready to send but still undecided. Do it. But what if there’s something you’re not thinking of?—No, she’ll never mention it to Josh. No way. She hit send.
It’d been almost a month since she’d last talked to Karina, and she wasn’t ready to let the friendship go. Karina was too good a person to not have in her life. She missed her friend. It was the new job that had kept them apart. The new job and, of course, the bad thing she’d been caught doing with Devlin, then the whopper of a lie she’d told her friend. Not so much a lie, though, really . . . she’d told Karina she’d divulged to Josh what had happened at Tiffany’s party while he was passed out and that was mostly true. She’d only left out the worst. Left out the parts Josh would be crushed to hear. And now she was working for Devlin and the sex had happened and was over. She was ready to open her life up again, ready to get back on track.
Kimmy: Long time no talk, sister! I miss you I miss yoga, work is a drag. I’m throwing Josh a surprise get-together tonight and I’d love it if you could make it. Not too many people, Meyer will be there, some of Josh’s friends from work. Josh would love to see you, and so would I. Hope you can make it. Call me or text and I’ll pop you the deets!
Phone back in her raincoat, she pulled forward and nosed into Meyer’s gravel drive, butted up behind his SUV. It had started to mist so she popped her hood up, mounted the steps to his unit and was greeted by Sophie coming out in a hurry in a clear rain slicker. They hugged.
“Hey, you gonna go stay with your mom?”
Sophie said she was, Meyer came out and locked up behind him, saying, “Perfect timing, Kimmy.”
She stood, held Sophie’s hand.
Meyer said, “What’s the special occasion?”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s not Josh’s birthday.”
“Oh,” she laughed, “Ha, no. It’s been a tough month to get used to. I’m not around like I used to be and . . .”
Meyer laughed, said, “You’re too good to that guy.”
“Nah,” she said, “He deserves it.” Then: “I hope it clears up,” looking past the rim of her hood at the greying sky. “I pictured the party on a patio.”
“It’s supposed to clear,” Meyer said, fishing his keys out of his pocket.
They walked down the steps together, Sophie leading her by the hand, the little girl with a good grip.
Daddy said bye to daughter, and Kimmy told him she’d text him later, and they all hustled into their vehicles and closed the doors before they got too wet. Sophie struggled her way into her car seat on her own. It’d been a pain in the ass to get it figured out in the new car this morning, worried Josh would look down and catch her putting it in the car, but she thought she got away with it, just tossing it in the back then getting it sorted when she stopped for coffee.
Sophie brushed back her damp hair, said, “What’s the party for Uncle Josh.”
“Just ‘cause he’s an awesome uncle. It sucks it’s a grown-up party and it’s going to be late. You want to go with Josh and me to see a movie next week?”
She brightened. “Okay . . .”
“Now—where do you want to go for breakfast? My treat . . .”
Comments
the only things I’m confident in happening in this book are 1) Kimmy breaks her one and done manifesto 2) Kimmy continues her dirty talk about Devlin to Josh and she may turn up the humiliation a bit 3) Josh continues to oscillate from my wife is cheating to wife wife is the best. and from I want my wife to cheat to I’d be ruined if she did.. How KT decides to deliver these I’m not sure.. Personally I think the party isn’t that important for the advancement of the storylines noted above, with the exception of number 3 (and maybe a very small bit of number 2). I see this party as a way to reconnect characters and provide KT additional avenues for the story going forward.. The story has basically been a game of pong lately with Kimmy bouncing between Josh and Devlin.. The party should inject other characters into the story so the story can branch out a bit and maybe Devlin and Josh can interact in the future, or perhaps Karina and Josh, or Karina and Kimmy or Meyer and Josh etc. I highly doubt the party itself is going to be a scene of major drama, unless KT is tiring of the story and wants to move it to its conclusion quickly. The only drama I see will happen inside Josh’s head..

2020-05-08 14:56:34 +0000 UTCWhilst we await seeing how KT will pull the horny rabbit out of Kimmy's pussy at the party tonight, outdoor sex fans in Toronto's Waterfront neighbourhood will be spared additional surveillance from our Google overlords. The company has dropped plans for its Smart City there. This means the gals can give BJs on the street (that's you, Libby) or sex in in the hot tub (Libby, Chelsea, you catch that?) without concern that a Google camera, mic (sex in shipping containers), or drone will memorialize the action. Kimmy may certainly benefit from this decision as well as she is likely to need some end of work day solace from Devlin before heading home to her BFF/AA, Josh.

2020-05-08 02:02:58 +0000 UTCDevlin crashing the party is going to be the big question it's an easy direction for the plot to take. Him showing up creates so many opportunities for plot line to take root. It's the simplest way to move things along. KT could fool us as she has so many times before. I do see some event with Sophie complicating things. It's a break in Kimmy's routine going for breakfast is one, the car seat is another. Wait this maybe a reason why KT included Sophie Kimmy is dropping her off with Hyun. So this is setting up something between the two for the future?

2020-05-07 15:59:36 +0000 UTCYou are spot on for your first three. Here’s my take on other issues for the future. 1. This book sees Josh learn to stop worrying and love the bomb. He’ll decide to trust Kimmy and embrace the fantasy sexual rewards offered by Kimmy working for Devlin. He knows it’s a dangerous fantasy but the ecstatic, if increasingly humiliating, sex will be too much for him to resist. 2. While Josh has decided to trust her, Kimmy has had her first heroin hit. Screwing Devlin and taunting Josh about Devlin’s big dick will be a permanent part of their sex life from here on out. The more he trusts her the more outrageous she’ll be as she searches for a new high. Those sexual rewards will tempt all three to up the ante as well. 3. Devlin will insist to get in on the action directly. I’m a big fan of personal interaction between the three. I’m not sure the characters are ready for it at this party but I do think it starts to happen at some point in this book. (For example, I’d really like to see Devlin, in font of Kimmy, tell Josh how sorry he is that he made fun of Josh’s small dick. That’s a perfect asshole apology. If he could do it in front of others it’s even better.) I think you’re right about Karina, Sophie, and Amy. The wildcard is Devlin, of course. Does he crash the party somehow and force everything to happen at a faster pace? He’s unlikely to let the opportunity pass without doing something. But what?

2020-05-07 06:45:00 +0000 UTCPatron lost this earlier today. I had wanted to recap where I think things may go: 1. Devlin knows that Josh gets off on hearing Kimmy talk dirty about his size. I have said it before, but this is a particularly good argument to counter Kimmy’s reluctance. 2. Karina will be there but unless she sees something going on between Kimmy and Devlin, I do not see her bring up past deeds. One thing that could come up is confirming Josh’s beating at the hands of Jonny Rumble. 3. I find it odd that KT has included Sophie into the plot. This must cause some plot complication of some kind. Kids are always good at seeing the truth and blurting it out at the wrong time. 4. At some point Amy will be brought into the doing of Monday. Now if Kimmy gets a call from Amy then I would say Devlin let her in on the details. I cannot remember if Kimmy told Amy about the up and coming meeting when she last talked. Well if anyone else has more to add…

2020-05-06 22:06:49 +0000 UTCNot sure what is going to happen at the party. For all intents an purposes Kimmy is planning this party for Josh and only Josh's benefit. 2020-05-06 20:47:20 +0000 UTCI wonder if KT is using the parties and their aftermath as stage markers in the story’s progress. We began with a party that broached the idea. We have one now where I would assume we are in the middle and starting to transition. Will there be another as we approach the end?
CSH
2020-05-06 19:37:47 +0000 UTCYou’re probably right about that though I believe if Devlin shows up, it’s the beginning of the end. The seeds of destruction are planted at the moment of greatest triumph sort of thing. Kimmy’s overconfidence in inviting Karina will backfire as will Devlin’s desire to embarrass Josh in front of his friends. I think they can draw Josh into a sort of game if it’s ‘pretend’ limited at first to just the three of them and it’s hidden from his friends but out in front of everyone right at the beginning is going to backfire.
CSH
2020-05-06 19:28:30 +0000 UTCI wouldn’t mind some more backstory, but I’d need it from the narrator. Personal memories from over 10 years ago aren’t always the most accurate. So even if Josh tells his side of the backstory it might not be truly what happened and it would be nice t9 get the full story.

2020-05-05 23:23:28 +0000 UTCI just thought of this. It's good to know what and how Devlin bullied Josh. Before we weren't getting much but now we got a glimpse of it about Devlin getting Josh's jacket. Although it was indirect, I wonder what Devlin did in the past that was directly himself. Maybe Devlin never directly bullied Josh? Maybe it was Josh's insecurities that made him blame it on Devlin? Maybe this realization will help him accept Devlin and Kimmy's relationship? Haha. You know we think too much. This was a good read. Something to tone down all that hotness we just read.

2020-05-05 23:11:07 +0000 UTCDon’t feel bad RCH I had to look it up too. Personally I agree with Glaucon’s take about this party. I think Devlin will crash it, but he’ll otherwise behave himself. Kimmy let him know last night about Josh asking sexual questions about him so he knows Josh is picturing Kimmy and a Devlin together. Thus, Devlin will know his presence will be sufficient enough to get under Josh’s skin so he can still bully Josh, but not look like an asshole while doing so. I do think Devlin and Kimmy will have another encounter (I mean this is erotica after all) but my take is it’ll be before the party not during. I can’t see there not being at least one encounter in the book and I’m guessing the party will be the focal point of this entire book. During the party is too risky as there will be a lot of focus from everyone on Kimmy’s and Devlin’s interactions. After the party Josh will be too pissed off so she’ll be dealing with the fallout. Eventually I can see scenario like this party where Kimmy and Devlin do try stuff, but that’ll be only if Kimmy has either lost all respect for Josh or Kimmy knows Josh is okay with it.
Chinookfan72
2020-05-05 21:48:38 +0000 UTCIt will get out to Devlin, either Kimmy will blurt it out (subconsciously she probably wants him there) or Karina will tell him. And something will happen between them at the party. There will be a point where Josh looks up and Kimmy and Devlin are both not there. Again, he won’t be able to prove anything, and Kimmy will have a ready excuse. But the worm will continue to turn in his head. That’s my prediction at least,
JL23
2020-05-05 19:04:16 +0000 UTCI think there’s a pretty good chance she’s going to slip and tell Devlin about the party...secretly she probably wants him to be there, at least her “bad” side. 2020-05-05 18:59:15 +0000 UTCChekhov's gun I had to look that one up Glaucon. I was thinking, what has a phaser from Star Trek have to do with the Waters! :) Sometime I feel so uneducated. Well after reading the definition there are so many elements introduced earlier that seemed insignificant that will show their significance later. Perhaps this story will be used in future literary classes to demonstrate "Chekhov's gun" technique?

2020-05-05 17:49:25 +0000 UTCAt this point she is very much in love with Josh. She is also finding out she likes to be a bad girl. Kimmy thinks she has had her fun and now it's time to go back to normal. Her reaction with organizing the fun night for Josh is partly out of guilt and partly out on gratitude on having such a loving husband. She see this as an anomaly at this point. With Devlin involved it will evolve into something else. We'll have to see what KT will dream up for the Waters. I can't guess where this will go as there are so many options. A long way back I did bring up the possibility of blackmail and it still could happen or Kimmy could go down the dark path on her own. Needless to say but the seat belt sigh is still on. 2020-05-05 17:30:07 +0000 UTCPlus having Karina and Devlin both at the party is like having two loose cannons on deck. Let’s see how addicted and under Devlin’s spell Kimmy really is.

2020-05-05 13:45:15 +0000 UTCThat’s a fair point. I’m in favor of interaction. I think it’s logical, I had just conceived of it occurring between the three of them first. A kind of reconciliation before diving in. I expected Kimmy to take the lead but you are probably right that it needs to be Devlin. And to be fair I thought what just happened between josh and Kimmy would take a lot longer but it didn’t and it was very believable. It’s in KT’s hands so it will be good however it goes. I agree that the opportunities for the taunts and tension will be exponentially greater if they are physically present together and I agree that’s the best (for me) path for the story. Still, I would just like to see Kimmy do something nice for Josh without Devlin intruding too much, too quickly. The longer she takes, the more immersed he will be, if she turns up the heat too fast, that frog is liable to jump out of the pot to use another’s analogy.

2020-05-05 11:42:08 +0000 UTCTo be fair, this is book 5. How long would you expect the series to be that it's too soon at this point to have Devlin interacting with Josh/Josh's friends etc.? Also the Karina invitation is a huge Chekhov's Gun imo. To be clear, I don't mean to say he's openly talking about fucking Kimmy. I expect way subtler than that. I see it as a largely non-sexual thing. Oblique references to Josh in school. Comments about Devlin's current status and isn't it lucky that Kimmy's providing for them, etc. Just lots of subtle digs. And if it does happen, I don't see it as something that Josh or even Kimmy wants, it's Devlin insinuating himself in. For example, he finds out about it from Kimmy, then what would she do if he just straight shows up with a bottle of wine? He knows where they live. Kimmy games it out in her head - she's not going to just turn him away. My point is, at the end of the day, if KT wants the story to go that way it can be written.
Glaucon
2020-05-05 04:06:05 +0000 UTCOh and when I said Devlin at the party was not believable, I meant I can’t believe Josh would accept or Kimmy would dare, not yet anyway. I don’t think they are ready yet. Especially with Karina there. Though now that I think about it, could KT really pull that off? Holy crap, Kimmy tells Josh later, “I brought Devlin only to tease you. I hate him but wanted to get you excited.” LOL - now I’ve talked myself into it.

2020-05-05 03:52:32 +0000 UTCGlaucon, I agree that’s who Devlin is and where he wants to be. I’m not even against the story going there. I want to see them interact. I think it’s a natural direction with wonderfully dark possibilities. Just not yet, they are not ready. There are lots of other ways to bring them together more gradually. I think doing it too early in the story will be hard to pull off, especially after they just had that fantasy last night. Most of these stories start to go bad when everything is sex and we rush to the end. Let’s give it some time and let Josh stew a bit. When Kimmy has got him fully cooked she can serve him up to Devlin.

2020-05-05 03:42:57 +0000 UTCYes chinookfan72, I noticed that too. They ended with see you tomorrow.

2020-05-05 03:31:29 +0000 UTCI actually never heard that, I love that, haha
JamesIsAsleep
2020-05-05 03:29:22 +0000 UTCThat’s an interesting way to see it. Josh is also driving it with his obsession. One more reason for Kimmy to just be sweet Kimmy tonight, at least on the surface. Y’all know the joke about the masochist and the sadist right? The masochist says to the sadist, “beat me, hurt me!” The sadist sneers and says, “No!”.

2020-05-05 03:27:20 +0000 UTCI think it's 100% his style to establish status over others. There's a dimension to this thing with Kimmy that's more valuable to him to be able to rub in other's faces, even if its just implicitly. Whether it's this party or some other party, eventually Devlin's going to want to be a big shot in front of Josh and his friends, flaunting Kimmy as professionally subservient to him, sharing embarrassing stories or comments, and just making unkind status comparisons explicit and implicit between himself and Josh to Josh's friends (and Karina).
Glaucon
2020-05-05 03:25:01 +0000 UTCI definitely think her motivation to have this party, in this moment, is guilt/positive feelings for Josh. But her intentions in this story are made to be corrupted.
Glaucon
2020-05-05 03:22:32 +0000 UTCI hope the party goes well for Kimmy, Josh, and friends. Except for maybe Kimmy blowing Devlin in the parking lot. Seriously, after the previous chapters maybe we need some build up chapters again. No way Kimmy and Devlin meet now without doing something sexual though so it could be pedal to the metal now and a rapid descent for all. I just fear that will bring the end closer.
CSH
2020-05-05 03:19:34 +0000 UTCWell I agree with you CSH, I think you only feel guilt because you care for someone, so i do believe it's an act of love from Kimmy. I think we're all just playing that story out though and realizing that Devlin wont make this party go smoothly for Kimmy (or Josh), either directly or indirectly.
JamesIsAsleep
2020-05-05 03:07:11 +0000 UTCJust can’t see Devlin at the party. It’s not believable for me. Making her come outside and blow him in the parking lot is another thing, though. More his style.
CSH
2020-05-05 03:07:07 +0000 UTCAbove I guessed she was motivated by love but yeah you may be right, she’s feeling guilty. Could it be both? I would really like to see the party itself go well for her and Josh. There need to be good things in the relationship to keep it, and the story, alive. In my opinion Devlin making an appearance would stretch credulity. Maybe he draws her outside for something nasty while the party is going on? I think she genuinely wants to be nice to Josh but she is getting addicted to being bad to him.
CSH
2020-05-05 03:03:31 +0000 UTCSo I might be alone in this. I actually think she is having the party for Josh because she loves him and wants to do something nice for him. I think it’s a genuine act of kindness. I also think inviting Karina was a terrible mistake she will live to regret. She made that decision from a moment of over confidence after last night’s triumph. My suspicion is that Karina will eventually tell Josh the truth. Not tonight but later.
CSH
2020-05-05 02:47:38 +0000 UTCNo, I do think it's just something so Josh doesn't get his words in. That's all I think it is. It may be out of guilt. It might because she wants to humiliate Josh, however subtly or however overtly, but I go for simplicity in this. If Devlin shows up, it's gonna be a mess for Josh. Oh, well... it is what it is, whatever it is.

2020-05-05 01:43:22 +0000 UTCThese are the chapters that the wonderful foundation of this story is founded on! Detail, emotion, etc.

2020-05-05 01:35:11 +0000 UTCI reread that beginning part, yeah Kimmy is fine. I tried to make a funny ...
JamesIsAsleep
2020-05-05 01:14:48 +0000 UTCI doubt her pussy will be fully recovered, but if she gets turned on enough I highly doubt it’s in bad enough condition that she’d turn down another roll in the hay with Devlin.. Perhaps when she gets home after Josh party she might be a little too sore for Josh, but I’m thinking Devlin can get it if he wants it.
Chinookfan72
2020-05-05 01:03:44 +0000 UTCagreed Glauc! if KT has Devlin crash it I think it would be a realistic way for Devlin to get back into interacting with Josh and a way for the three of them to socialize together.. Wether or not Devlin crashes it my opinion is Devlin will mess it up in some way.. either by making Kimmy late, crashing it, maybe both.. One thing I found interesting is Kimmy’s meeting this morning.. One way to get Devlin to crash the party would be for that meeting to go extremely well and let’s say Kimmy solves Mel’s problem. When Kimmy tells Devlin the news Devlin would likely be thrilled so I could see him giving her the rest of the day off and the two of them go and celebrate (I’m sure Mel’s fuck up has Devlin in hot water with his Dad, or whoever the president of the company is). One thing leads to another and they lose track of time (hopefully due to Devlin fucking Kimmy again and leaving another deep secret inside Kimmy).Kimmy, slightly buzzed and frantic, tells Devlin she’s gotta run to Josh’s thing and Devlin invites himself.. She is too flustered/ turned on to say no and thus Devlin shows up.. So not only do you have the awkwardness of all three of them hanging out you also have Kimmy getting off on getting away with it again. Not saying this is what is going to happen but if it did I wouldn’t complain.
Chinookfan72
2020-05-05 01:00:29 +0000 UTCI wonder if Devlin has mastered stem cell technology which he could inject into Kimmy's vagina to recover from the night before. No? too far? Yeah it is. Six Million Dollar Pussy ...
JamesIsAsleep
2020-05-05 00:45:32 +0000 UTCParalysis by analysis is spot on, Donk. I sometimes like to picture what it looks like if you were in the room next to Josh seeing him have the thoughts he has in this story, I bet he looks insane, or comatose, to the outside observer.
JamesIsAsleep
2020-05-05 00:41:31 +0000 UTCIt could be that DnD is just pointing out that this party will inevitably turn into a distraction for Kimmy, not that she set it up deliberately that way. Which I would agree with everyone else, I wonder if Devlin crashes it? Either way, I love thinking about Kimmy going through the trouble of doing this for Josh just to have Devlin's gravitational pull suck her away.
JamesIsAsleep
2020-05-05 00:38:02 +0000 UTCI see we had similar thoughts lol - honestly I think the story needs more interactions like that to make this dynamic really shine. I think it's also been set up for Karina to make things even worse for Josh (his old crush on her) and I'm still calling a possible threesome for Devlin on that.
Glaucon
2020-05-05 00:35:18 +0000 UTCI love how well put together Josh's mental pretzel was constructed by KT, you are an artisanal pretzel maker, KT. World class! I'm not going to lie that the first thought I had about what Kimmy would do to make up for the night before was Gill Pancakes. When KT gets her own wiki that will have it's own entry. Instead Kimmy is going to throw a party for Josh. Kind of an extravagant way of telling Josh you fucked his enemy dont you think? I think she should go all out with a big old banner that say, "... And he has a bigger cock, too!" Jk, obviously, I love that she thinks this is the perfect way to make up for her behavior. It's not, but people have their own way of expressing guilt I guess, lol.
JamesIsAsleep
2020-05-05 00:33:49 +0000 UTCMight be, might be that Kimmy gets called away during or gets wrapped up in sexting (implicitly humiliating Josh by showing her priorities), might be that Devlin finds a way to push his way in and embarrass Josh further in front of his friends (with Karina there too, echoing the memory he shared with Kimmy of being humiliated in front of her before). It might be fast for Devlin to be showing up to an event like this, but on the other hand he has to make his way back into involvement with Josh somehow.
Glaucon
2020-05-05 00:33:36 +0000 UTCI don’t think it’s a diversion yet, to me it’s something she planned out of guilt trying to restore order, only somehow Devlin’s pull over her will make it end up as a diversion.. Or it could lead to Devlin coming along and socially interacting with Josh and his friends, that would be a completely different type of awkward.
Chinookfan72
2020-05-05 00:32:34 +0000 UTCI actually think Kimmy straight up lied about Devlin’s location to Josh.. when Devlin and Kimmy talked it ended in see you tomorrow, so Devlin will be around.
Chinookfan72
2020-05-05 00:30:05 +0000 UTCPretty obvious, no? The party is nothing but a diversion so Kimmy doesn't have to deal with Josh. A pure distraction.
DavidnDaria
2020-05-05 00:22:25 +0000 UTCi had similar thoughts... Today is going to be an interesting day in Kimmy’s world.
Chinookfan72
2020-05-05 00:19:35 +0000 UTCDon't you like being set up by KT! I see "business" travel in Kimmy's near future. Devlin could easily make it into town today or tomorrow for important business meetings. Josh, suffering from paralysis by analysis, has no real clue. We like the reenyty of Karina into the story.
Donkatsu
2020-05-05 00:17:06 +0000 UTCAlright, now how exactly are Devlin/Kimmy going to ruin this party for Josh? So many options...
