WARREN - Wishful Thinking - Stripshow episode - sketch!

The first thing I'm gonna share with you this month is the new STRIPSHOW episode I'm working on. It features WARREN WESSEL and acts as a kind of flashback/expanded scene for MAKO FINN #2.

Warren is that itch I just can't seem to scratch enough, these days. After how much you all seemed to love the "Warren vs the Sharkman" piece I created back in August, I wanted to revisit the character and that fateful scene in which the Piranha has him literally f***ed within an inch of his life.

I mean, you could say this scene's been done before... but I'm a glutton for punishment. Heh! Heh!

I love that you guys are getting to see this several weeks in advance of anyone else, AND that you get to see the creative steps involved. I really enjoyed working on this strip -- I hope you'll enjoy it too.

The Inks are up next. Stay Tooned.

Aww that's so sweet thanks :-) I have a very simple & cheap secret: I always ALWAYS have a half size piece of paper under my right hand on the drawing board wherever I draw, I just have to carefully see where I put my fingers from left hand to handle the paper, not on graphite parts. I gotta change very often that protection sheet cause it legitimately get soaked wit graphite under, hehe!

I must say, I really appreciate that you do most of your work with graphite -- I can't personally work with it without making a big mess everywhere on the page. That just shows how talented and skilled you are at your craft, my friend!

Gosh I'd love to be that confident and draw less at the sketch stage! But I agree, I love so much working with pencils, the graphite, how it's true to your intentions with the hand, how it also can make it black LOL Lately I must be tired, cause I realized I put graphite everywhere and must clean more than usual my artwork, hahaha!

HA HA HA! I guess I sorta cut corners in the pencils/sketch stage, sometimes. But I think that's because I know what detail I'm gonna add in the inks anyway, so why draw it twice? LOL! Still, I think the initial pencil lines are the most honest and true and are often less labored than the inks, which are so often very calculated. Merci encore, mon ami!! :D :D

You really get ALL the work implied in the ink stage comparing to this sketch step, wow!
