Hope you've all enjoyed your weekend.
Since "APRIL" rhymes with "PERIL", I've decided it would be fun to ramp up the peril quotient this month -- make it sort of a theme. As it happens, this month's LUMINARY ART REQUEST, which comes from ArtFan, was for EMIL DURAND in perpetual peril.
Ooooooh MY -- how I love this request, let me count the ways!! <3
So here's a quick WIP to give you guys an idea of what I'm up to... and what Emil is up against. Bear in mind there's still a lot of detail left to go into this illustration, but I think you get the idea. Heh! Heh!
Poor Emil... I have a feeling those electrodes are about to deliver a shocking surprise! And that's just the tip of his imperiled iceberg!

ArtFan requested that Emil be in "perpetual peril", and I sorta just went ahead and interpreted that in my own way... and came up with this weird suction/bondage machine thing. HA HA HA! I'm so pleased you picked up on his facial expression, too... I really wanted to show the exhaustion and elation on his face at the same time. I hope that came through. Heβs really stuck and i love it so much! Whoever requested it, i need he/she to give me comm ideas! xD But then again you are the one drawing this masterpiece and i have to say it looks amazing and u captured his facial expression so well!
