You thought you were only getting 4 pages of GAY FOR SLAY #2 this month, but instead, you're getting 5!!
I was so moved and inspired by this page, it literally took me over and I just HAD to draw it! I've literally been waiting TWO FREAKIN' YEARS to draw this one and I couldn't wait any longer.
So here you go, my beautiful Patrons -- PAGE 18 of GAY FOR SLAY #2 and ISAIAH'S journey is about to take a very UNEXPECTED turn!
If anyone cares, I literally had Ellie Goulding's "POWER" on repeat the ENTIRE TIME I worked on this page! Something about those chords just inspired the fuck outta me, and this is BY FAR my favorite GAY FOR SLAY page to date. When I die, sprinkle my ashes in Papa Pourquoi's bayou!
And if all goes well, I think next month we'll see this issue come to an end with the remaining 7 pages. I'm too close to the end to stop now!

And I love that you enjoyed my "inspiration" while reading it, too. I literally played POWER on repeat over 700 times in the time it took me to draw, finish the colors and letters for this page. It was a HUGE part of what inspired me here, and I love that it helped you enjoy your experience with the page, too! SO WONDERFUL!!! Angain, I wanna thank you for all the very sweet compliments on the location and on Isaiah himself. I took great pleasure in all of it. A very good point about the moss, and now I'm sorta kicking myself, because the truth is, I did intend to draw some, but kinda forgot in the end! Spanish moss for future bayou pages -- CHECK! LOL! And as for the little bees, well, you caught me there. I honestly couldn't tell you what species they are. I researched bees only and thought these little guys were so cute, so I drew them! LOL! But next time, I'll make sure that they are native to the bayou. HA HA HA!!!! Thank you again so much for the awesome comments... and yeah, that Froggy would have a really nice view, wouldn't he? You’ve worked the song into your drawings & dialogue, which is amazing!!! It really is the perfect soundtrack for this scene. Patrick!!! There is not a pixel of this page that isn’t doing something to create Papa Pourquoi’s Bayou. Not a single square millimeter of filler. The level of detail transports me back to the last time I was in Louisiana. The sights, sounds, and smells, somehow, they are all here, right in-front of me!?! The trees & flowers, the hue of the water, and rays of sunlight... I think there may have been a bit more Spanish Moss on stuff, but otherwise... PERFECTION!!! You nailed the reflection of the boat, in panel 1, and the shimmering of the water behind Isaiah, in panel 5,.. seriously?!? like how??? It’s something that’s just as iconic as the Bald Cypress’ & Spanish moss, but so easy to mess up, and of course, you’ve knocked it out of the park!!! Then there is the man himself... timeless masculinity & sex personified!!! His aviators, tank top, and booty shorts all fit within the period, but could easily be found on any beach today. They show off his every asset, and provide the perfect pop of color/visual interest. Ironically, his outfit seems to cover up more of his “public” regions than his “private” ones, but I’m not complaining, 😜😈🤣! So, it’s taken me until now to compose my comment, but that’s because of how wonderful this page is. I haven’t been able to find the words. I just don’t know how you keep doing it! You said something about it taking two years, from inception to completion, well I’m here to say that I’d gladly wait 50 if this is what your bringing to the table. p.s. I want to be the froggy; A, he’s adorable, and B, he gets to see Isaiah all up close & personal like. p.p.s. My one, small, critique would be that I can’t seem to identify the species of bumble bee you drew. They kinda look like buff-tailed queens, or possibly early bumblebees, but both of them aren’t native to the region. I have a thing for bees, 🙃😜
