ISAIAH SHADE - Ravaged by MOGRAG! DEMO version/WIPS!

I thought it would be cool to give you a behind-the-scenes look at some of the earliest incarnations, as well as what I tend to call "DEMO versions", of my "ISAIAH SHADE ravaged by MOGRAG" piece.
I say this was a DEMO VERSION because that's precisely what it is. This illustration wasn't meant to eventually be refined and finalized because I drew it specifically to provide a fellow Class Comics artist with a visual reference for MOGRAG, and to demonstrate how this new character interacts with ISAIAH. You'll also notice there are examples of varying color schemes for MOGRAG in the post.
But the more I worked on this "DEMO", the more I liked it, and I decided to refine it further so that I could create a fully-finished art piece for you lovely people and serve it up as part of the MAY 2021 rewards!
The versions in this post are the WIPS and the "final" DEMO version, which you can see I treated to some very basic coloring. They're not finished by any means, since I further refined the inks and colors for the official version of the art, which I posted earlier this month.
But I find it really fun to look at the various iterations of a drawing, in general. the subtleties between versions often shed light on the artistic decisions made along the way, in effect serving as a sort of commentary depicting the drawing's evolution from A-Z!
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy these versions of "ISAIAH ravaged by MOGRAG". Personally, these make me appreciate the finished, final versions even more. Even if I feel these Demo versions are unrefined, I guess I appreciate that they are what sparked one of my favorite pieces from this month into existence.

I sometimes feels a little funny posting these wips because the perfectionist in me hates how unfinished and “loosey-goosey” they can look... but they are all part of the process, and I love that we as artists can go from such basic, simple forms, to the more complex, finished art pieces we create.
