It's true what they say -- Artists are their own worst critics!!
I look at this image and part of me cringes at how I used to do things back then. But I have to take a step back and realize that all art evolves, and that despite the parts I dislike, the illustration as a whole still works, IMHO. I'd like to think that GAMBIT's joie de vivre is captured here, and his easy sexiness comes through. That, or I'm highly delusional! BAH HA HA HA! XD
Regardless, it's frikkin' GAMBIT... and what's not to love about more of this hunky Cajun Stud? LOL!

I really work hard to continue to sharpen my skills... but at the core of everything, I feel it's so important to have genuine respect for the characters I draw. Not to mention that you have always stayed true to the original depictions of these characters that you know and love. It's great to see an artist's growth but it is also amazing how well it still feels familiar and....you (not sure if that makes sense lol).
