A Look Into Our Headspaces - #163 After School Special

The Chris episode was great!

Jami Burdine

I'm so confused why you guys think the Chris episode wasn't good? The Ray Romano episode only got 25k views (I say only very lightly, catch me out here with 0 views lmao) and it was a great episode! I was basically raised off everybody loves Raymond so that was nostalgic and just great all around. While the Chris episode stands at 75k views. So what makes them good or bad episodes? Like genuinely wondering what this algorithm is. I'm obviously biased being a patron since I love every episode haha

a bit late but I wanted to comment and say that I think you should try not too worry about uploading content that maybe isn't quite as good, of course there might be the occasional complete bomb but I imagine it's pretty rare. I know it's super easy for me to say when my life isn't so public but I think the ups and downs are a good thing, I've only been watching a few months and to me it makes your podcast feel more more authentic, we all have bad days and maybe some episodes are a little worse than others but man even they have me giggling in work like a child😂. if you hadn't posted the video you wouldnt have gotten the feedback, you guys actually learn from every interaction you have that's why you do so well and this is just another opportunity to grow and too continue to put out content both you and your audience are happy with. you can't control peoples reactions but you can control your reaction to the people, learn and improve and don't be too hard on yourselves, your all making a lot of people's lives at least a little bit better❤️

Also please give us the book title that Zach was talking about around 11:30 ❤️

I wish handsome would do a meet up so him and my dog Winston could be besties. They would get along handsomely ;)

Just as you maybe felt uneasy with the outcome of the last episode, there are also complications that come from recording a podcast with someone - especially a well-known person who may have felt they were helping you by appearing - and NOT posting it. Anyone who was watching closely could see that the guest was trying to drive the conversation, find out more about the two of you (when the focus of the podcast was getting to know him), and then directed when he had a hard cut-off. I think the trick is - especially for someone you're so happy to have on for the first time - that you tell them immediately (in real time) if there are reasons you're not going to have full show and need to reschedule. Or you add in a short, later-recorded intro to say "Our guest was pressed for time but we were so thankful to meet him" to temper expectations. Or, you add on some "bonus material" outside of the studio to fill in the time. With that being said, I didn't expect anything different with "Chrissy Chaos" and very much enjoyed it. Everything done well goes through a learning process. And, you are doing phenomenally! (⬅️ Can't stress that enough.)

Hey guys i know in a podcast recently you’ve mentioned you’d love to come to Hawaii. Instead of visiting pls consider donating/spreading word about the current crisis taking place on Maui. You guys have such a huge platform and any type of post letting people know what’s going on/asking them to cancel their trips to hawaii would really help and mean so much. If you are considering, i can DM you infographics/reputable donation links on Instagram if that helps or persuades you at all 🫶🏼

I know you thought the Chris Distefano podcast wasn’t your best but you guys need to give yourselves more credit! I think it was fun! With 3 funny people there is no way it could be bad. Thanks for all of the hard work you put into everything, it really shows!🤍

Screw the haters!! Those people don't care about you! Those of us who do will never care if you post a mediocre episode or post one late. I am always excited to enjoy whatever you post whenever.

CRO

My initial reaction to this was: 'aw man, dont call off the podcast!! I recently discovered y'all & loving your vibe & energy!' 😄 Off days ( sometimes weeks) or episodes happen & its cool that you guys choose to acknowledge that & stay true to where youre at, what you want, where you've been and where you wanna get to. Luv the raw energy you guys put out here. You set the tone. Hope Alyssa feels better soon.

LJ

Very honest! (I thought the Chris episode was good, so I'll have to change my comment..) haha j/k you guys r, gr8! Don't be so critical of yourselves! It's the most unique & refreshing show that I've personally ever seen. You always have amazing content! Also, hoping for a speedy recovery for, Zachs mom and the new girl. ;)
