Well, the recent explosion in the cowgirl trend comes because we are in the Chinese year of the ox. It's a common custom for artists to draw something to celebrate the change of sign. (Whether or not you are interested in Chinese culture this is just a nice pretext to jump in to the seasonal hype wagon) Last year it was the year of the rat, but the explosion in drawings was not as pronounced as this year. I guess because rats aren't considered fetish fuel very often...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On the other hand, the humble cow print bikini has been considered a staple in lewd fashion for a long time...:D
