YT EDIT RUSH HOUR (1998) | MOVIE REACTION | FIRST TIME WATCHING

Comments

Chris Tucket and Charlie Sheen are great in “Money Talks”

Goose VF-1

Do the other two Rush Hours, then the Shanghai Noon movies with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. THEN The Tuxedo.

Jocelyn Haeberle

You both are absolutely going to love the second film. Personally, it's my favorite! Also, that Chinese food place is an actual place in Chinatown in Los Angeles and I have eaten there once, it's pretty good!

React to “Rounders.”

Shutter Crazy

Shanghai Noon is fun!!

Also, Die Hard 2 and Die Hard 3, especially 3 for Samual L Jackson. Another movie you'd both enjoy might be Don't Tell Mom: The Babysitter's Dead and The Stepford Wives , 2004

Jon

Have a Holiday movie suggestion: Last Holiday with Queen Latifah and LL Cool J. I think it's something you'd both really enjoy.

Jackie Chan's Shanghai Noon movie is amazing too! It also includes the hilarious outtakes. Jackie Chan western comedy. Y'all will love it!

Jackie Chan took a long time to take off in the U.S., but his film career in Hong Kong made him, at one point, the world's biggest box office star. It was hardly unusual for Hong Kong action stars of the 70's and 80's to do their own stunts, but I think Jackie set himself apart by doing some spectacular ones along with (as Amber noted) a clever and humorous style to his fight choreography. He has stated that silent film comedy icon Buster Keaton was a big influence, and it certainly shows. He has good comic sensibilities, even when playing as the “straight man” in the comedy duo here. In addition to the sequels to this, you might find Shanghai Noon an entertaining watch with Jackie paired with Owen Wilson in the old west. Rumble in the Bronx was his first big breakout in North America, and was a good watch if I recall. I've seen a handful of his Chinese movies, so if you ever got the inclination to go OG Jackie Chan, Drunken Master and Police Story are a couple of his classics. I'll second the recommendation for The Fifth Element. It's a top tier Bruce Willis sci-fi action movie, but Chris Tucker is perfectly utilized in the supporting role he was cast in. It polled pretty well once if I recall, so there's probably an audience for it here. Plus I think you'd enjoy it, of course. Tom Wilkinson, the actor playing big bad British boss Juntao, is a favorite character actor of mine that I'm always delighted to see show up in a film. Since I just recently recommended The Full Monty, it just makes it convenient to do so again if you care to see Wilkinson in a more charming comedic role.

I haven't see this movie in such a long time!! Love Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker both. I enjoy anything Jackie Chan is in. My dad's favorite was "Who Am I" where Jackie Chan loses his memory and he goes on the run. I love that he does almost all his own stunts. He's so talented and enjoyable to watch. Chris Tucker is also great, he has a lot of energy and charm, though I think some would say he's a bit of an acquired taste. ....repeat movie plug enters the room.... Tucker plays the fabulous Ruby Rhod in Fifth Element (Futuristic Space Adventure), which also stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Ian Holm (older Bilbo Baggins from Lord of the Rings). I'd be surprised with Amber didn't fall in love with the badass heroine in this movie as well, played by Milla Jovovich. This movie would be considered an underdog because it won't win out against other big sci-fi like Close Encounters.

Definitely watch the rest of this trilogy. Enjoyed your reaction

Chris Tucker also stars in Silver Linings Playbook with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence. It's a dark comedy / drama. It's a really good movie. The acting is incredible in this movie, and yes, Chris Tucker delivers!!

“I’m the weener , I’m the earner!” Rowan Atkinson is so good in that movie, and really everything but I quote that line anytime I do something.

Crystal Laherrere

There are 3 more Rush Hour movies I believe to watch

Elizabeth Franco

A really good Chan film is The Tuxedo, also before you watch the new Karate Kid you need to finish the ones you Ralph Machio and Pat Morita

"Throw Momma From The Train" - very funny, dark comedy

If you want a good comedy, check out “Rat Race” from 2001. And don’t forget about my “Seabiscuit” from 2003…..🤞
