You also have to understand the Michael was a highly decorated Captain of Infantry in WWII. Probably a company commander. He saw more violence and death there than 100 mob families. he brought strategy and tactics that he was skilled in to this new position and that is why he was so efficient!

People who don't understand Shakespeare or King Lear usually misinterpret Part 2 and become very lost during Part 3. Michael obviously begins Part 1 as Cordelia, proving his love for Vito as the child on the outside, but ends up taking the role of Lear. Instead of daughters, Vito plans for the future of his family and kingdom with his sons. Part 2 develops the primary theme of emotional/moral blindness that is usually associated with King Lear and Gloucester. Part 3 uses the King Lear model to complete the narrative thread with a definitive ending and a clear moral to the story common to the Shakespearean tradition, but missing in the first two films.

Which today is the Entrance to Jones Beach, and the Loop Parkway which takes you to Long Beach; Where I currently Live. The Family home was to represent Island Park. Love these Movies. There are some movies that just transcend time and are must see examples of great American film making. You donβt have to rush into it but Godfather 2 is probably one of the best sequels ever made. I believe it is still the only sequel to win the Academy Award for Best Picture

I just finished the movie with you. I had to smile when Jay was imitating Marlon Brando. I also chuckled knowing that there will be two days in the (distant) future where it WILL be the day of his daughter's wedding. BTW, the studio didn't think Brando was right for the part because he was to young; he was only 47. They let him play the don after seeing him become Vito with cotton balls in his cheeks and hearing his raspy delivery.
