FULL LENGTH CASABLANCA (1943) | FIRST TIME WATCHING | MOVIE REACTION

Comments

Man, Casablanca is one of my favorite movies! If you want to see most of the same cast in a gritty detective movie, you have to check out the Maltese Falcon!

I love that you watched this movie. I love even more how much you enjoyed it!

Michael Weiner

Second The Maltese Falcon, regarded as the first film noir.

As Time Goes By is also the musical flourish behind the WB logo that has flashed before multiple movies across the decades.

Mike LL

I agree I think they would totally love The Maltese Falcon (1941) a great detective mystery caper.

Mike LL

Please watch “All About Eve!”

David Croft-Ogawa

The Birds is in color, actually! Humphrey Bogart has so many classics, but I think you guys would love The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Not much romance though, and Bogart's character is a bit crazier.

Jon

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. My favorite!

Check out The Maltese Falcon - on the new 4K UHD remaster Warner Bros just released from the original camera negatives. It's stunning.

I'm very glad you enjoyed "Casablanca"! "Sam" singing "As Time Goes By" is the song played in the opening credits of "Sleepless in Seattle" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan (the second of three movies they did together). If you enjoy great, classic movie dialogue you might want to consider watching "Random Harvest" with Greer Garson and Ronald Colman. One critic said "Never has the English language been more beautifully spoken." Another classic with Miss Garson is "Mrs. Miniver" with Walter Pidgeon and Teresa Wright (who also starred in the the Oscar winning movie "The Best Years of Our Lives") both movies released in 1942, one year before "Casablanca". At any rate, I truly enjoy your reactions. Thank you!

James

The Birds directed by Alfred Hitchcock is great and iconic but might push Jay over the edge 😅
