Witchblade Update

Some of you may have noticed the recent change over on RR with Witchblade. This will be nothing new for anybody who has already seen the post.

For those that haven't, however, this is for you.

Sohmer and I have gone back and forth over this for a while as we've progressed through both books of Witchblade, and we've come to the ultimate conclusion that we'll need to do a rewrite on the series.

This choice wasn't made lightly. Honestly, it's super stressful. The reaction to the series has been less than we hoped, but most importantly, we're just not happy with the state of it. We know we can do better. Even if the reworked reception is the same, both Sohmer and I will be happier with the changes we've settled on.

Unfortunately, that means the story that has been released so far is no longer considered the final product and no longer indicative of the story we want. I have updates automatically scheduled up through March 29th. Those will remain in effect, but afterwards there will be no further updates while we work on books 1 and 2 of Witchblade.

We wanted to express our deepest gratitude for all your support so far, and to let you know that the core cast will remain the same. The characters you know and love (Gwen, Shrubley, Miranda, Heath, and the rest of the Magi) won't be going anywhere.

What will change? The beginning will receive a massive overhaul, core systems and progression methods will be altered/added as need be. Much of the core story line will remain similar enough that if you squinted, you could still make it out. But trust me when I say it'll be a lot more fun to read (and for us, to write).

Neither of us want to rush this, so it'll be ready when it's ready and not a moment before. Old chapters will remain up until we finish the rewrite, at which point they will be swapped out for the new versions.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them below (or in discord) and I'll do my best to answer 'em!

I don't know either, but the more people talk/share about a given book the more others are likely to give it a chance. There's just so many good books coming out in the space and it's getting flooded more and more that it is a real uphill. The truth is, nobody cares if an author posts about their book because they have a stake in the book's success. Readers though? People love seeing tier lists and there are constant recommendation threads/posts/requests on various socials. What separates a lot of popular series from the others is that they simply have more fans going out of their way to promote/discuss/recommend. I consider myself incredibly lucky that I get to do this full time so I'm happy with what success voidknight has gotten!

Well here is hoping for book sales. I don't get how Voidknight isn't your most popular series by far.

A necessary evil I'm afraid, but we're 100% confident it'll be for the best in the long run. Voidknight's return hinges more on the 4th books sales than anything else right now.

As of right now, we intend to keep the same advance cadence (50ch ahead). Patreon will likely get the chapters even sooner since we'll technically be starting from 0 and building back up to 50 on Patreon.

Kinda bummed about this, I was enjoying Mel's adventures. Does this mean VoidKnight will return sooner?

Will the rewritten chapters be released on patreon and if so will they still be earlier then RR
