Anyways just a sketch for the end of the month! For some reason I really struggled even with the sketch today, and I haven’t been super happy with the direction my art has been going so I tried a new sketch brush and looked to one of my favorite artists Lina Im’s work for inspo! Hopefully doing some studies will pull my style back in a direction I like more ♥️ any other artists struggle with this?

2022-06-01 14:16:14 +0000 UTCI struggle with my art too. I tend to compare myself to others too much and it ends up making me feel inadequate and depressed. I know I shouldn’t do that but it’s hard. Sometimes my style feels like I’m mimicking others too, like my art has imposter syndrome; even though that’s not true. Art is weird. Drawing has also been such a struggle for me lately, it’s just been exhausting and I don’t know why. Maybe there’s something majorly off with the universe lol (if we just casually ignore the daily news 🙄) Hang in there 🤗

For me it helps at least, I try and incorporate things I love about it into my own style and it seems to push my art back on track if that makes sense? Also thank you so much I’m glad I can make you enjoy a character you normally wouldn’t 🤣

Concerning art style slips...Yep, I think I see what you mean, feeling like my style is slipping as an artist, constantly unhappy because I was sure that my style didn't look like whatever I was doing. Needing something to change in my technique to get back to a comfortable feeling. But you have to remember that we still love and appreceate your art!
