Home Pod Code Release

We are excited to be releasing a few more code bases over the next couple weeks and that will be starting with the AI Home Pod!

The Home Pod is a LLM voice assistant running on a raspberry pi connected to a touch screen display that runs a variety of apps. This makes it the perfect substitute for your Alexa or Google home.

Where is the code?:

How to build:
This project contains 2 3d prints that screw together with 4 M4 screws. Everything else just clicks together!

A bill of materials can be found in the setup guide attached below.

Apps at a Glance:

Will there be a tutorial?:
Yes a tutorial is planned for this project and will be coming out soon. This will cover how to build it and install the software.

Shout out to @blurryface on the discord for the UI redesign!

Thank you guys for all the support. More projects and tutorials coming very soon!

Would like the step files as well. Any chance to get it?

Christiano Faig

I can't wait! Have my parts all delivered now too! 😁

Stoo

Buying directly from the Pi Website or Canakit has worked for me

carter hearn

Could we get the STEP files? I had some ideas for modifications

Brantley O'Day

looking forward to it, let me know if you need a test printer :)

Stoo

Do you have a recommended brand?

Brantley O'Day

That would be sick! I might be modding this design a bit this week. So I'll try out the angle to see how it looks

Kevin Coda

Weirdly there are multiple types of USBC. there are the standard cables and ports and then there is USBC-PD (Power Delivery) that's what the Pi needs because it requires like 25W of power. So you should probably order a pi power supply. Those will have 5v 5A

Kevin Coda

what do you use to supply the pi with power? every usb-c I use causes undervoltage warnings

Brantley O'Day

already ordered my parts and printed my parts! i had a thought though, is there a way of adjusting the top .stl to have the screen at a 30deg viewing angle?

Stoo

It uses API calls, so no onboard LLM, but it's really fast. Very real time. On par with Alexa responses

Kevin Coda

I only see the stl not the setup guide which touchscreen etc do you use?

Sjoerd Stouten

Cool, the next tutorial is coming soon🀩🀩

Kevko

How fast wil this be. Raspberry pi is limited with no GPU and not the fastest CPU?
