Yesterday, a certain podcast (which I have definitely never listened to) posted their farewell episode. This marks the end of the socialist movement in the United States and the permanent victory of global capitalism. While this has made many teenage boys upset, it has also elevated “the one people call gay on the internet and send antisemitic DMs to” into a towering public intellecual.

When we first started working on Doomscroll, I sat down with friends Clark Filio and Riel Roch-Decter to imagine a new video series. We asked ourselves: “what are the most interesting and influential shows happening today?” A standout among these programs was, of course, The Adam Friedland Show. Since before we launched the series, I knew I wanted to have Adam on the pod and that we would have a great conversation.

On Doomscroll, we want to deep dive into online political ideology in a way that can be humorous, approachable and (most importantly) results in a show that can be watched by normal people. As online culture becomes increasingly chaotic and influential, we hope to amplify the important voices that can help us to make sense of all the noise.
