The Pearfect Storm, Chapter 10: Sale Candy

Chapter 10 of my 7th stuck story, The Pearfect Storm.

CHAPTER 10: SALE CANDY

Her living room windows frozen over from the polar vortex, Julie sipped her coffee and warmed her butt by the radiator. Her eyes drifted to the giant empty bowl on her kitchen counter. It had been her Halloween candy bowl, now empty for the third time after she’d refilled it twice. All that was left in the apartment was raw unsweetened baking chocolate.

Julie sighed, both wishing she had more candy and wishing that she hadn’t eaten all of her candy so quickly with still a week or two left being snowed inside.

She looked down at her great belly, protruding even further in front of her than usual. Her pajama set no longer met across her middle, her soft flesh peaking out even if she tried to tug her bottom up and her top down.

In the past, gaining so much weight so quickly would have been a cause of some concern. But looking down at her belly now, all she could think about was how hot Joe thought she was and how powerful it felt to drive someone wild with desire.

None of her ex-girlfriends were this horny for her. It was a relationship game changer. Even if this tryst didn’t last longer than the storms, she would never settle for another girlfriend who didn’t desire her like this.

Just thinking of Joe, Julie pulled out her phone and absently messaged her, “happy day after Halloween candy sales!”

BOOP “Your favorite day?”

Julie put down her coffee cup to type faster, “you have no idea!”

“When I was a teenager, with parents who didn’t really celebrate Halloween, I used to save my allowance for the day after Halloween candy sales. I have… always been fat.”

BOOP “Teenage me would have had a crush on teenage you and worked an extra high school job to fund your post Halloween investments.”

The sweetness of Joe’s desire to buy her sweets made Julie blush.

BOOP “If our windows weren’t iced over right now I’d throw over a rope with my leftover candy attached. It’s such a waste that I’ll be picking through my candy or weeks while you starve.”

“I’ve only myself to blame and you can hardly say I’m starving here” Julie held her phone up to the full length mirror in the hall but found it difficult to capture all her corpulence in frame. SEND

“My poor dear you’re wasting away! I’ll brave the blizzard to come rescue you.”

Julie laughed, it was torture being so close yet so far, she wished Joe could just walk around the block from one building to the next, but the news was counting the snow in feet, not inches, and being apartment dwellers, it’s not like they had snow shovels.

KNOCK KNOCK

Julie’s jumped. She looked back and forth from her phone to the door, “Joe?”

She approached the door, messaging Joe “is that you?”

BOOP “Is what me?”

Julie looked through the peep hole and saw old Mrs Cartwright from 2B, it wasn’t Joe.

Disappointed she opened the door, “hi Mrs Cartwright, how are you keeping during the storms?”

“Fine dear, look I won’t bother you long, but since we’ve no trick or treaters this year I wondered if you’d like my candy, I already picked out my favorites and instead of throwing it away I thought you might like it.”

“Oh, sure! I’ll take those off your hands. You know me, always happy to help!” Julie patted her belly, what was she doing?

“HA, I bet! You take care now, I gotta get back to my crochet.”

“Thank you Mrs Cartwright!”

“You’re welcome dear.”

Julie immediately stood in front of the mirror and took a picture of herself holding the bag of candy up to send to Joe, “my neighbor must have heard you and she just gave me all her Halloween candy!”

She poured the grocery bag full of candy into her bowl, filling it to the top again. Not all her favorite candies that she would have chosen but she wasn’t going to let any go to waste.

BOOP “Send me her address so I can send her a thank you card.”

“Thank you for fattening my girlfriend for me” Julie had a sudden flash of horror as she pressed send. Girlfriend? Why did she write girlfriend?

She waited in horror for Joe to respond, she tried to figure out something she could say to de-escalate.

RING

“Oh no, she’s calling to break up with me” Joe unwrapped a candy bar and took a bite before she pressed accept.

“You’re my girlfriend.”

The warmth and joy in Joe’s voice filled Julie’s soul.

“I am.”
