CHAPTER 16: RESCUE (REPRISE)
Under the blanket, Lori and Lexi listened to the saws above them, having been told the whole ceiling wouldn’t come down on them, but also feeling like they were holding an umbrella below an avalanche.
“You can come out now,” assured Alicia.
A layer of sawdust coated the bathroom, Lexi handed the sawdust covered blanket to Alicia.
Lori watched them lift away the circle of floor/ceiling. The tripod was already there over the hole, and the line ran down from the pulley. These firefighters didn’t waste any time.
Lexi checked her phone, “our courier is here, I’ll be right back.”
“I’ll be here,” said Lori with a shaky voice.
Lexi met her restaurant’s delivery guy at the lobby of the apartment building, “is everything okay?”
“Everything’s super, thank you so much for getting to me so quickly,” Lexi responded, purposefully offering no information. She followed the guy to his scooter parked out front on the sidewalk.
She took one tray of food and brought it to the fire truck, “keep up the hard work fellas!” she chimed cheerily as she dropped a tray of food and napkins on their bumper.
She grabbed two more trays and instructed the delivery guy to follow her with the rest.
Back in the bathroom, a firefighter brought in a harness to Alicia.
Lori thought the harness looked a bit like a life vest, a very very small life vest. She watched Alicia and the other firefighter exchange concerned glances between herself and the harness.
Alicia sent the other firefighter out of the bathroom with the harness and turned back to Lori, “nevermind that, we can figure something out with the rope.”
Lori was relieved they made that decision without trying to force her into the too small harness. Watching them work with the rope and the knots made her wonder if they could apply this skill to bondage, then she realized she was already quite bondaged up already in the bathtub. If the point was to constrain and restrict, she was quite constrained and quite restricted, only no safe word would magically free her.
She was relieved to see Lexi reappear. She hadn’t liked Lexi leaving her side, even though they did need to smooth thing over with the upstairs neighbors.
“How are things upstairs?”
“They’re not happy, but I gave them our home insurance number and two trays of catering which will hopefully pacify them until you’re out of there. I also sent a tray to the firefighters upstairs and to the ones at the truck and left a tray in the kitchen for the ones here.”
“Any left for me?” Lori asked timidly.
Lexi kissed her on the top of the head, “I will get you anything and everything you want… when you get out.”
“Okay, let’s get this around you,” Alicia and another firefighter strapped Lori into their makeshift rope harness, a bit like a vest.
“Normally,” explained Alicia, “this would also go between your legs and around your hips, but we needed to improvise.”
“I usually hate improv shows but whatever gets me out of here,” Lori was getting tired.
“Now the winch isn’t going to be like the rope line, it’s going to be strong, you need to keep talking to us about how it feels so we know you’re okay” Alicia attached the harness to the hook at the end of the winch line.
There was a lot of chatter on the radio and calling back and forth through the hole in the ceiling. Checks and double checks and triple checks, tugging the harness, tugging the line.
“Okay we’re ready, you ready?” Alicia asking a question that doesn’t need asking.
Lori nodded. Lexi stood at the end of the tub and held Lori’s feet, wishing she could hold her hands but the firefighters needed to be by the harness and the line.
“Ready when you are!” Alicia radioed upstairs.
“We’re go!” They heard shout down from upstairs as the loud generator started and the winch started cranking.
“OH!” Immediately Lori’s torso stretched up into the air, Alicia was right, this was nothing like the pull line.
“Lori, are you okay?” Alicia was holding the rope of her harness and flashing a hand signal up to the hole in the ceiling.
MMMMMPH
Lori’s face was squinched, her eyes shut.
“Lori honey, are you okay, they need to know if you’re okay,” Lexi worriedly patted Lori’s calf to get her attention.
“Okay I’m going to shut it down,” Alicia waved.
“No!” Lori grunted in the strain.
Alicia sent the disregard signal and tapped Lori’s forearm, “you’re okay to keep going?”
“I’m okay to go, I’m okay to go,” Lori squeaked.
OOOOOOOOO
Lexi hated seeing Lori like this, “she’s hurting.”
“I’m okay to go,” Lori was repeating it, like a mantra.
But she still wasn’t leaving the bathtub.
There was a crackle over Alicia’s radio, “we’re going to turn the motor up now, okay?”
Lori nodded.
“Okay turn it up!” Alicia called.
The motors upstairs got louder and Lori lifted higher.
“It’s working! It’s working!” Lori screamed, eyes open, smile beaming.
“No it’s not, it’s lifting the tub up!” Alicia and the other firefighter grabbed hold of the tub and frantically tried to pull it down off of Lori’s bottom half.
Lexi hadn’t even noticed the bathtub had left the ground.
“Lexi pull!” Alicia shouted.
Suddenly it was quite clear that Lori and the bathtub were up in the air. The faucet and drain pipes clanged as the tub became unmoored.
“Lori come back!” Lexi pulled the tub.
“It’s not letting go!” Alicia shouted.
The two firefighters and Lexi grabbed the tub and hung their weight on it as the winch continued pulling Lori and the bathtub up in the air.
Alicia tried to radio to turn off the motor but couldn’t take her hands off the bathtub.
“What’s happening down there? Our engine’s going to overheat!” shouted the lead firefighter from above.
“Don’t stop!” shouted Lori, a sensation came over her hips and thighs and butt, friction, something was happening, squeaky friction, something was happening. “Don’t st-“
POP
In a flash Lexi and the two firefighters crashed to the bathroom floor with the cast iron tub.
Without the weight of the cast iron tub and three people, the winch WHHHRRRLLLD and Lori shot up into the air toward the hole in the ceiling!
FOMP
The intense freedom Lori felt when her hips and butt popped free of the bathtub was immediately exchanged for an equally tight enclosure around her belly as her fat plugged the hole in the ceiling.
“Are you okay? Are you okay?” Alicia double checked that Lexi and the other firefighter hadn’t been caught beneath the falling cast iron bathtub.
“LORI!” Lexi screamed up at the bottom half of her wife hanging from the hole in the ceiling, enormous legs swinging in the air, almost joyfully free.
“I’m coming Lori! Hold on!” Lexi patted Lori’s dangling foot and jumped over the fallen bathtub and the two firefighters to run out of the apartment and up the stairs.
There was smoke and commotion upstairs and the sound of a dying motor, “turn it off, turn it off” shouted the firefighters disconnecting the winch.
“Lori! Are you okay! Lori!” Lexi ran through the smoke and pushed through the firefighters to find the top half of her wife poking out of the floor.
An innertube of belly fat surrounded her, completely obscuring the hole she was stuck in, she still held onto to her makeshift rope harness as if it was still connected to anything, “Lexi!”
Lexi fell in front of Lori and wrapped her arms and legs around her wife as much as she could, kissing and pawing at her, “are you hurt? Are you okay?”
“I flew!” Lori was so excited, she was buzzing with adrenaline, “did you see me flying!”
Lexi laughed and cried and kissed her fat stuck wife, “I saw, like Peter Pan.”
She noticed Lori looking beyond her, “what is it?”
Lexi looked back to see one of the catering trays of food that Lexi had left for the upstairs fire fighters.
“You said when I got out,” Lori pleaded as she reached for the tantalizingly close tray of food.
Lexi laughed, “I did say that.”
She grabbed the tray and slid it over to Lori, “anything and everything.”
Lori eagerly grabbed a pastry and filled her mouth, as Lexi wouldn’t stop kissing her cheek and neck.
KISS
“Anything and everything.”
KISS
Over their broken down winch, the firefighters looked on confounded at the enormous wedged woman and her tiny wife celebrating seemingly prematurely.
“What’s going on up there?” crackled over the radio.
Alicia looked up at Lori’s incredible legs happily bouncing in the air.
“Does anybody copy?”
All she could hear was muffled giggles as Lori’s chubby toes curled.
