Episode 509: Stephen King's Influence on Video Games

Hello, friends. This week's host Nadia, as the song goes, isn't well and stayed back at the hotel... metaphorically speaking. However, she did manage to connect with Shane Bettenhausen and Andrew Vestal to put together a podcast about the influence of Stephen King's work on video games. That's the formula for a quality hour and a half! So gather 'round, turn on the lights, and enjoy this episode, and send a well-wishing thought into the universe for a speedy recovery.

Episode description: Nadia Oxford chants the names Andrew Vestal and Shane Bettenhausen three times in reverse to summon them into an episode recording circle dedicated to exploring the influence of acclaimed horror author Stephen King on video games. We all ’cast down here…

It's amazing how nobody knew what telekinesis was. As I'm reading Uncanny X-Men (60s) the number of times they mix it up with teleportation is ridiculous. It feels like people didn't have any imagination until fairly recently.

Pokemon has that Stand By Me reference you mentioned, and then Omori has a reference to that same reference.
