Added 2024-06-10 21:19:01 +0000 UTCTwo days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.
To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he'd reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.
He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone else's. Right now my priority is preserving everything he's built and I don't have any plans beyond that.
His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn't want it to end like this.
Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube.
The team and I want to keep that going. To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.
We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I'm not about to stop now.

That is why we have so many comic channels on YouTube now. I joined his Patreon a long time ago and stopped because I was low on money, but I joined back up again because I dont want to see what he created to die. I will support for as long as I can. I should have subbed such a long time ago but in memory of his legacy and the joy he brought me I will keep the subscription until its no longer available.

I loved every Batman video and truly loved the mangastorian, and being a straw hat fan. I was looking forward to him getting caught up, and find out what the one piece truly is. Benny was my favorite YouTuber, he seemed like a genuine nice kind hearted dude and he will be missed.

2024-06-11 14:08:18 +0000 UTCMan, this sucks! I found Comicstorian at one of the lowest times of my life. I had a bad ankle and couldn't walk or work. I stumbled upon his channel on YouTube. I think the video was DC Metal! The way he brought life and excitement to the story made me invested! I fell in love with reading comics all over again. I also watched a ton of his videos on Comicstorian and stumbled across his Agent Venom analysis. I discovered that he had an ankle injury very similar to mine, and he got it from working for the government, just like me. How he made a way to “make it” out of his situation by making Comicstorian was fucking inspiring to me. I subscribed to everything at that point and honestly wanted to see this dude win! This one hurts.

It allowed me to keep up with the stories I'd grown up with and how they were progressing with new writers and new storylines. The joy he's brought so many with his efforts can't be put into simple words. I know I will continue to support his dream, even now. I'm so sorry for the personal loss, and his loss is shared and lamented.

I was in hospital surgery this is why I don't know. His videos broadened my view of comics when I started out and his input, commentary, and especially the rants were all great sources input into the world of comics for me.
