This Month In Retronauts: June 2023 edition

Apologies in advance, dear listeners: I (Diamond Feit) came down with a summer cold this week and while my health has improved much in the days that followed, during the actual recording of our monthly community podcast, I was still pretty exhausted and a little bit hoarse. Fear not though, for Stuart Gipp and I upheld our promise to you and read your comments, your feedback, and delivered a rundown of recent retro news & releases...and very old Canadian television for some reason.

Ironically, some of the info we caught up with this month is now out of date again thanks to the Nintendo Direct that followed our recording session by a few days. I guess we'll find time to react to Super Mario Wonderworld in our July episode, by which point Nintendo will probably announce something else new and exciting. Oh well!

Don't forget to leave your answers to our latest community question in the comments below.

Hard agree with Stuart that both Curse of the Moon games eclipse Ritual of the Night. Does the vertical shmup section of Curse of the Moon 2 qualify as a "boomer shooter"?

As a teenager working in the Target (and later Best Buy) electronics/media departments, it was annoying to regularly have ignorant people make claims that console competitors could play their respective games as well. I don't know how many times I heard someone's Xbox could play PS2 games and vice versa.
