Dev Blog #21 - Stay Safe out there!

I hope everyones doing well out there!

So far we're doing well.  We've been getting a lot of work done and have been making a lot of good progress.  I spent a lot of last week reverting back to project admin and tech support.  With some of the suspension hits that have happened recently on Patreon and with Google, I focused my energy on building a server and migrating my project data in a centralized location in my house alongside cloud backup.  The server is up an running and everything is running smoothly now :)

This weekend I also took a step back from this updates dev work and wanted to just hammer out a direct path for the direction of Lyla's Curse.  We have laid out the ground work and have made the story more concise to the point now all of the way through to the end.

I'm really excited about this and am really glad we decided to take a step back to really nail this down.  It's still not completely locked down but the focus here was really making sure the story we have planned is going to be an interesting one.  So minus the H-Content, I'm hoping the story alone will stand on it's own legs and all of the h content is just a major bonus.  

As far as current development goes for the current update, I'm returning my focus back to closing out tasks for this update so we can send it out to everyone when it's complete.  We're kind of working on both content for this update and the next update in tandem.  As some of the features we want to implement for the next update have a very long dev cycle so would need to be worked on through multiple update cycles for it to have enough time to be completed.  That feature mainly being the combat/adventuring system we're trying to nail down.  With the words combat system, we're not going try and create an actual jrpg combat system in a visual novel, but more like a hybrid story based combat with basic stats to drive combat.  The focus here is mostly on just something direct and fun while adding a little bit of the classic text adventure styling (but with imagery and sweet chibi animations :) )  Anyways, that description may change as we work on it more lol.
