Status Update V0.1.40

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to give a state of development update.  I want to start doing these regularly, like weekly dev blogs to see how you guys like it.  I'll have status updates on what we've worked on throughout the week and any other news that may arise to keep something nice and consistent.  Let me know in the comments how any of you would feel about something like this, not all posts may be filled with massive advancements in development and I'll try to sprinkle in extra posts here and there as well with other teasers.

So, what we've been working on currently: (Don't forget to check out the trello as well) 

Voodoo Monkey (V0.1.40 Content Overview || Art Assets Tasks)

I've been focused primarily on writing this entire time.  I've completed a little over half of the planned scenes that I wanted to add.  Total scenes I've finished writing so far is ~20 

(I know...I'm incredibly slow at writing, it's just not my strong suit.  If any of you are good writers out there that can write the scenes at the level or better then what you're seeing in game and can really get the feel of Lyla and Socks interactions, hit me up.  We'll talk about you possibly joining the team.  That way I can focus primarily on the art.)  

Anyways, back to the topic.  Writing.  The scenes that I have left to complete are all higher level and I want to move onto the art assets for the finished scenes.  So from here on out I'm shifting into the art phase.  I want to try and setup streaming while I'm working in case anyone would be interested to just hang out and watch me draw.  I'll also record these and post process videos.  I've been really itching to get back to drawing as I haven't drawn much since I've been focused on writing these scenes.  When I finish all of the required art assets, I'm going insert the finished scenes into the game code and begin programming all of the animations for the scenes.  Animations like Facial Expression setup, any movement, etc.

If there's still time and people are dying for the next update, or programming is still being worked on before I finish all of this, I'll begin working on the leftover scenes, if not, I'll have the scenes I just finished at least implemented into the game and release the update with that content.  And push the unfinished scenes into the update after V0.1.42?  

Pale Horse (Programming Tasks)

Pale Horse has been focused on implemented portions of his refactored code into the master.  He's built the beginnings of a "Notification" system which should notify the player of what they should do next or any other information.

A rough quest/task log has been worked in.  A debug button has been added into the Pawnshop (for internal testing).  Voodoo Monkey created a spreadsheet mapping out all of the quests and triggers to work off of.  A new template created setting up the basecode for a Quest Class.  

A lot of the refactoring has should also close the existing loop bugs or undefined bugs from the previous update.

New Location Data has been setup for the games screens (locations and screen overlays like buttons).  Framework has been created and applied primarily to the Pawnshop and its various rooms as a starting point for testing.

Reworked how the audio was setup so that if a current song playing is called to play on a scene change that it doesn't reset the song.  Only resets the song if it's different.

Emmanuel (BRKN HVN)

Has written four new songs.  Samples of the WIP files has been posted for Patrons to preview.  Currently working on recording the final versions of the songs and mastering.
