Exclusive look: Rei - G9

Hello everyone,

I figured it'd be fun to do something a little bit different this time around; an exclusive look at a character I'm in the process of developing for Evelaire; Rei, the owner of hotel Tin-iinn.

I started creating Rei relatively early into the release of G9, which is Daz' new, improved version of the base model G8 and G8.1, the base that I am currently using. Although I see a bright future for this model base, it's been quite tough to get working with it. G9 has completely different structures in bones and mesh, as well as textures. As a result, I cannot simply use everything in the same way I have been. It's been a road of discovery to see what does and doesn't work, but in the end it comes down to me having to create an entirely new library for assets, especially skins and morphs. 

That being said, I'm fortunate enough to have also talked with Braden about this, and thankfully, he pointed something out to me that I hadn't quite thought about, despite using the program frequently. Because I have various 3D programs, I'm fortunate enough that I can fit a lot of G8 clothing to the new G9 model. This is of course a big relief, and saves me a lot of money on the short term, although over time, I would obviously do well to create a library of G9 assets.

But who exactly is Rei as a character?

When it comes to Rei, I really wanted to create someone with two, or even three sides to her. As the story summary of "Hotel Tin-iinn" already portrayed, Rei is a hotel owner with a secret; She shrinks any hotel guest she fancies, and keeps them for herself as her "delightful little pets". I like to think she has a rather lewd side to her towards people, and primarily men of same size, whilst she is incredibly possessive of the clients she shrinks down and keeps as her pets. She likes to think she treats them properly, in the many ways you've grown to enjoy from me. Whilst forceful, she does things in a gentle, and often even flirtatious manner, often teasing that her little pet must really feel lucky to end up in such a place... She considers them lucky to be hers, and expects her pets to be obedient.

This however changes when a tiny escapes, and joins the civilization of tinies within the walls of her hotel. Rei truly sees these tinies as "traitors", and couldn't care less of what happens to them. She enjoys the fact that other hotel guests have their fun with them as well, and would give these tinies a cold shoulder herself. She approved these tinies ending up on menu's, or even being taken along by her other hotel guests... She doesn't have a use for them anymore after all.
