So, I'm writing and recording a Musical.

Hey guys, I wanted to fill you in on what I've been up to this last month or so.

Basically, I was commissioned to write a musical. It's a lightly steampunk musical, set in the late 1800's, a bit historical in nature, but mostly a story about fictional characters. Technically, I was commissioned to write the first part of a musical, to see if they like it...and they will LOVE it, I have no doubt!

Part of the negotiations behind this is that I get to release it to you guys as an album, so I think you're going to be thrilled.

In order to do this, I have had to assemble a cast. Casting might be the single most important part of making a musical great...I can't sing ever part! (Imagine me singing a love duet with myself! yikes! And yes, I have those recordings.)

Well, casting was not going so well at first. I put out an open call, and had only heard a couple reasponses, some of which were so bad I started to doubt the whole project. It doesn't matter how good my writing and composing is, if the cast sings off key, and sounds like they are reading the lines.

Well, last night something wonderful happened. One of the talent agencies I was working with got back to me, and the result was breathtaking! A huge zip file full of talented auditions!

Suddenly my charters are coming to live with these amazing actors and actresses! I actually teared up at a couple of the auditions.

As of this morning I'm going through all the auditions, and making a chart as to how good they are at singing, acting, comedy (saying the lines well is part of it, but making funny lines funny is a completely different skill).

Anyway, its a total blast, and you are going to love this!
