The Clockyard
Added 2025-01-16 21:18:26 +0000 UTCWe’ve got an exciting show coming up where we’ll be playing Aether Shanties from start to finish. This means performing some songs we haven’t played live much before—if ever. One of those is The Clockyard! I know, it’s a bit shocking, considering it’s such a classic Abney Park track. To make it work, though, I had to completely rebuild it.
I wanted to stay true to the original, so I went back in time; I booted up the 20-year-old computer it was originally recorded on and dug up some of the original recordings: guitar, Jody's vocals, drums, synths, etc. Then, I reworked everything, re-recorded my vocals, and here it is! I thought you’d enjoy hearing this new version.
If I did my job correctly, it feel just like the original, but with enhanced recording quality, and a few little surprises worked in.
