Changing up my tier prices.
Added 2020-09-11 22:59:56 +0000 UTCMy rules is everyone gets a chance for art rewards, but at the same time I don't want people to wait too long. It doesn't feel right. I did say I wanted to do more rewards each week, but I immediately got overloaded by doing more than one. Seems I can only manage 4 rewards each month at full power. But when I get more people the wait gets longer. I hate making people wait, but I'm just one guy.
So I wanna change some of the prices and benefits.
Egg tier is unaffected
Dragon tier $5 goes down to $4.
Sexy dragon tier $10 goes down to $7.
it's still $5 and $10 off any commissions outside of rewards.
Patreon rewards should always be cheaper than getting commissions from me. it takes about 6 months now to get back to people I've drawn for. if you're on my $5 dragon tier, that's a $30 commission.
my normal commissions cost $40
But also $60 for sexy dragons. Pretty much getting rid of any value from my normal commissions. $40+20=$60.
This was fine when I was didn't have a lot of people, but now the numbers are getting bigger.
so now it's only $24 and $42 for each reward until I get more patrons, but for now this will do for now.
Patreon doesn't allow me to change the prices of tiers while people are on it already. So I'll make new tiers to move down to. And I'll be removing the old tiers once everyone is off them.
They should be labeled new. and the expensive tiers shouldn't be visible now.

I can't say how other patrons feel but I never expected reward art. It's a very kind bonus for your patrons, and I hope you continue getting more patrons over time. If the number of patrons grows it will eventually naturally be extremely difficult to match the generous goal of rewards being less expensive than commissions. I haven't investigated a ton of Patreon pages, however as TegirVaru said promised rewards aren't something very common to begin with. I know a lot do lotteries of like one per month, and that's with sometimes hundreds of patrons for extreme examples, and that's if they do reward commissions at all. There is someone I used to be a patron of that I feel doesn't give enough effort communicating with their patrons. This person is/was taking in over like $20,000+ a month and posts short updates on their progress not even once per month consistently. That's poor treatment of patrons, not due to their slow work because they were open about that from day one, but because they don't even put in effort to so much as post messages to their Patreon page once a month. In your case I feel more guilty for the rewards than feeling like I didn't get enough from you. Thanks! It also allows people to pledge more than the tier they select, but perhaps on your end it's obvious who is actually attached to a tier.

2020-09-11 23:33:31 +0000 UTCNo matter what. I do not want people to wait for me. I can't stop the waiting, but I can make it more bearable. If not for you, it puts me at ease.

2020-09-11 23:11:20 +0000 UTCwhy are you lowering your prices. no one else even does free reward art, so you should be charging more, or just cut down the amount of rewards you do. its like you are punishing yourself for being a good artist. we follow you because we like you, not because we just want free stuff ^.^
