August 2020 Patron Fic Pick!

This month we're celebrating the ponies who make up the texture of life in Equestria. It's time for you, my beloved patrons, to pick your favourite background pony fanfic to receive my full cast adaptation treatment. Voting will close on August 31st and the winner will be announced on September 1st!

1.  Five Hundred Little Murders by Estee (Flitter)

Flitter doesn't like most ponies. There's hardly anything in the world Flitter likes, very few which she can even remotely tolerate, and only a couple which she truly loves. Fluttershy is not in the last two categories. Flitter sees Fluttershy as weak, and weakness disgusts her. But when you're trying to help someone you love, you'll look for help in a lot of places -- including the cottage of the weakest pony in the world. And for those willing to listen past their pain, it might be the place where they start to learn what true strength is.

2.  The Musings of a Winning Guardpony - Fangwarden  (Cloud Kicker)

Deployment. It's what every Guard trains for, preps for. But no amount of training ever matches the real thing, or can really brace ponies for the realities that they'll face. When Machwing Company's commanding officer goes missing without a trace, newly graduated Sergeant Rain Kicker and his squad are deployed to assist in the rescue efforts of his missing cousin, Cloud Kicker, her mother and her friend Rainbow Dash. Machwing Company already boasts some of the fastest fliers in the Guard. But sometimes, 'fast' isn't enough. 

3.  The Promises We Keep - Pascoite (Derpy Hooves)

Big Macintosh has fallen hard for the pretty blond mare. When she is forced into a fight for her life, he sticks by her faithfully, but keeping the promises he's made will be an even tougher battle. 

4. Octavia Hates Her Toothpaste - Cloud Hop (Frederic Horseshoepin)

Sometimes, the moments that define our lives, that change the course of our destiny, aren't grand adventures or powerful forces. Sometimes, they're just everyday events, lined up like dominoes, waiting for a tiny breath of air to send them tumbling down. For Octavia, it's an emotional breakdown with her toothpaste.

5. Dramatic License by MythrilMoth (Daring Do)

Daring Do is the most daring, most dazzling, most butt-kicking adventurer in all Equestria. Rainbow Dash is her biggest fan. But A. K. Yearling, despite being Daring Do, is also a writer, and writers sometimes have to embellish to tell a compelling story. Rainbow Dash is about to learn something that could test her love of her favorite action hero.
