September 2020 Patron Fic Pick!

September sits right on the cusp of the spooky season and preparations for Halloween are well underway! Thus, I put it to you, my beloved patrons, to choose a grimdark pony fanfic to receive my full cast adaptation treatment and be released during this year's Month of Macabre. Voting will close on September 25th and the winner will be announced on September 26th!

1.   'Delicious! Delicious!' by jmj 

Twilight always gets the same things at Sugarcube Corner, but there's something new and tremendously popular on the menu today! Everypony just loves it! The Green Tea Matcha Crueller may be a limited time only pastry... or maybe it will stay for a very, very long time.

 The powers entrusted to me by the Princesses are not enough. I can't stop him. Now I'm hearing a voice in my head—a voice that promises to help me defeat Tirek. I must be going crazy.

Everyone gets scared of the dark sometimes. When you're a kid, you might need a nightlight to make all the bad stuff go away. When you grow up and grow old, though, sometimes that darkness has something special waiting for you, and no nightlight can shine it away. I'll just keep telling myself that if I don't look, it can't get me. Right?

 You have to believe me-- Wait, that makes me sound crazy. Okay, starting over. Hi, I'm Lyra Heartstrings, totally ordinary unicorn. I've stumbled onto an ancient conspiracy, and I need to get this documentation published because it outlines what's really going on. Fine, publish it as fiction, I don't care! The point is to get it out where everypony can see it! Look, I don't care how much it's going to cost, I will rob a bank if I have to, but this can't be hidden any longer. I thought humans were long gone. I was wrong. I need to warn everypony, no, everybody, and if that means I have to sound like some crazy conspiracy theorist then so be it!
