After being rejected by a newly wakened Twilight, who secretly blames her for letting her parents and Shining Armour die, Cadence has returned to the Crystal Empire. Feeling alone and responsible for things she could not control, over the months since she has been back, Cadence has fallen into a depression of her own - until she spots an unexpected enemy preying on her crystal ponies that ignites her anger instead. Maybe she can prove herself not a complete failure by protecting these citizens where she failed her family and the castle workers who died in the Diomedes Invasion. But is she poised to make a massive mistake by chasing this invader?
