I knew you'd love this season, you'll really love book 4. I don't care what anyone says about book 4, it's fantastic and sets up the next trilogy perfectly. I love soft Amos so much!

2020-05-10 20:01:01 +0000 UTCThe actors finished filming S5 earlier this year in January or early February, so it's in post-production for CGI, editing, etc. No word on a release date yet, nor how much of post is impacted by the pandemic (hopefully not much). Fingers crossed for a release "later this year" (as imprecise as that may be).

2020-05-10 18:11:34 +0000 UTCMate, this episode is the one that made me realize I'd never want to be the president/leader. Everyone expects you to make a choice between shitty options and you know that everyone will go captain hindsight on you after the fact. So either way you end up being the one holding the shit bag and being made a scapegoat. Book 4 which this novel was based on was less well received, since it was a jarring change of pace. It felt like going from Aliens to Alien if that analogy makes sense. That said, the writers did an incredible job setting up the foundation stones to book 5 storylines that overall S4 was far more "complete" in terms of story arcs than book 4 itself. Which is why I think you enjoyed it. That said, I don't want to keep hyping up S5, but maaaaaann... if you think S3 was epic... S5 will blow people's brains. Also I do agree, despite the fact the Expanse is far more mainstream now that it's on Amazon (than when it started in S1), it's still grossly underrated compared to some of the most popular shows on Netflix. This isn't to say those other shows are terrible, but you're absolutely right, they are nowhere near the quality of the Expanse. I'm hoping the media goes nuts after S5 and more new viewers start up the series and more reactors start up the Expanse to attract more viewers. The final novel of the series will be coming out soon to "close out" the story for good. It would be a shame if this show didn't go the full 8~9 seasons to finish its arc.
