welcome back and we getting close to the end of this show been such a long ride, yeah quite a few shows you have to remember to think of the time it was set and politic at the time so easy to forget

2022-02-19 12:36:23 +0000 UTCI'm way behind with the reactions - finally catching up now! I really love these two episodes. It's nice that after all this time Crichton finally gets home and I think it was all pretty realistic. The world a couple of years post 9/11 was very different to a couple of years prior so it's no surprise that people's outlooks had changed when Crichton returns. It makes the show feel dated now but it made sense at the time.

2022-02-19 10:22:58 +0000 UTCI dug the last episode, "Unrealized Realities" both for the mixed up nature of the travels into alternate timelines and for the wormhole information. The "Einstein" alien is a neat character as well. Episode 12, "Kansas" is not my favorite. Farscape has done time travel episodes before, and done them well, but this one is just a little off. The Challenger disaster was also something that loomed large during my childhood so it felt a bit weird as a plot device. Episode 13, "Terra Firma", on the other hand, is great. It manages to "end" the main storyline in that Crichton gets home for real, finally. But naturally moves on from that as he realizes that Earth is really no longer home and that to protect where he came from, he needs to leave it again. And it works in a natural manner. It doesn't feel forced. Which lets us really concentrate of the main threat of the season (the Scarrans) for the back half of the season.
