Yes, on the cringe thing, this show somehow escapes it. I really have to chalk it up Ohm (Pat) and Nanon's (Pran) acting because, having watched Thai BL since 2014 (in fact, one of the first BLs from Thailand actually starred Ohm. I think he was a teenager back then) and knowing a LOT of the actors, even as good as some of them are, I don't think they could've pulled off a lot of the scenes in Bad Buddy without it being cringe. Like that whole bus stop boyfriend/girlfriend scene--anyone else, that scene would've given me secondhand embarrassment, but here I just found it cute. I enjoy how Pat is typically the sort of character you'd think to be kinda a jerk. In a lot of other series, characters like him ARE jerks, but here he is just clearly such a good person. Even talking the professor into letting them compete together, he didn't even feel the need to tell Pran. It was just something he did for him because he knew how important this was to Pran (and also, ofc, he wants to compete against him).
