I also had MAJOR beef with the fact that so many people kept pointing guns at each other and just wouldn't shoot. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. The only person I understood it with was Vegas when he had Kinn and Porsche dead to rights. But that's just because he's an actual, canonical sadist and it makes sense for him to want to torture Kinn (and Porsche) emotionally before killing them. Everyone else has no excuse. lmao When it comes to who is telling the truth...there were a few factors that tipped me off and then tipped me over into believing Uncle Gun more. First, Pop Korn is a LIAR who has obfuscated or outright lied like 5 times about what happened. He can't be trusted. Second, Vegas mentioned that Porsche's mom's picture is in his father's office before. We already know Uncle Gun hates his own wife and the children she bore him. It stands to reason this may be because he was so bitter he couldn't marry Porsche's mom. So his crying over her death would make sense. Lastly, the MAIN reason I believe Gun more has to do with Porsche's own memories. We only had one scene of Porsche trying to remember what happened but in that brief flash we see him hearing somebody saying "It's your fault for knowing too much." just before Porsche's dad is shot. Of the two stories from Korn and Gun, only Gun's story contains both this line and the scenario that would make the line make sense. That is, that Gun and Korn's dad killed Porsche's mom's family and were trying to silence her and her husband over their knowledge of what happened. And that's why, despite Gun being a piece of shit, and an untrustworthy and underserving asshole...I think I believe his story more. He may have fudged some bits or embellished things because of time or some self-delusion of his own "love" for Porsche's mom. However, I think the overall skeleton of Gun's story holds up under scrutiny far more than Pop Korn's does. Still, at the end of the day, the only people alive who know the truth are Korn and Mama Nampeung so if they do get a S2, I think the focus will be on unlocking her memory. I can't wait! I could use a dozen more episodes in this world easily. I'm overall very pleased with this series.
