None of the recent changes have affected Windows 10 and 11, so those releases weren't updated. But I did attempt to find a legitimate reason to update that version to cover the first known application to drop Windows 10 and early Windows 11, Adobe Premiere Pro 2025, but it installed on Windows 11 23H2 (24H2 is supposedly required) without incident. I will try Windows 10 22H2 when it is feasible to do so.

2026-03-07 05:16:33 +0000 UTCA user commented about issues getting Photoshop 2025 working on Windows 7, citing difficulties regarding the installer and dcomp.dll, but that comment was deleted. dcomp.dll will become part of the wrapper set in the next release of Second System.

2026-03-04 15:39:15 +0000 UTCI have now run this game on Windows 7 using the Windows 10 mode. There are no crashes when starting it, but it seems that with the Steam launcher in use, it tries to reject the loading of pwp_shs.dll and pws232.dll because of a patch made by the Steam launcher to ZwOpenFile that rejects them as "foreign DLLs" because they're not in system32. The only issue is a freeze on close which I will fix. Please send any crash dumps or debugging information by direct messaging. I also found a solution to the continuing mshtml issues. So they should be resolved soon.

2026-02-26 17:17:58 +0000 UTCI had this instance when trying to run CS2 using the Windows 10 and 11 modes and the game crashes upon launch. However, I noticed that when using the enhanced directx11 option, the game launched but no video output is shown. I can hear my cursor highlighting the game options and audio in the background. I notice the game video reappears every time I alt tab out of the game such as when I click play during the back screen, if I alt tab, I now see the play game section. I achieved this also by running the game from the root directory instead of running through steam. I made sure I placed the correct Windows 8.1 .dlls from a vm I created.

The games should now work fine in D3D11 mode (cannot try D3D12 because the only D3D12 Unity game I have requires feature level 12_0; maybe I can try that after installing 8.1 on a laptop with a slightly newer GPU).

2026-02-22 17:47:04 +0000 UTCSo I installed windows vista 64 bit ultimate on my pc and took the google chrome install from my windows 11 in a zip file and transferred it over to the vista machine put the chrome icon on my desktop tried to open it and it said this is not a valid win32 application. Doing it this way does work on xp 64 bit with one core api installed also works great on 7 with your second system installed. I also made sure to fully update vista as well.
