Waking up to something awesome
Added 2019-03-20 13:37:43 +0000 UTCSetup of the SL1 is a breeze with photo and video guided help right the screen but that doesn't mean my road hasn't hit a few potholes.
I started with the opaque orange resin which in resin land opaque resins tend to have a slightly longer exposure time per layer and with my basement being 16C that makes printing a little tricky.
Why? Resin has an optimal print temp in the 20C range. Below that and exposure time needs to be increased to compensate. This temp and exposure issue lead to 3 failed prints in a row as the resin stuck to the vat and not the plate or dislodged during print.
I decided to switch to the clear red resin and immediate success. Two hours left and this print will be ready. Why? Clear resins need slightly less curing time so it helped push through the cold resin issue with only a minor change in curing time.
