Limitations

I was so excited to test the real raw speed of the Mosquito Magnum but the mk3s is such a let down when you crank speeds.

I'm now printing regular models at regular speeds to dial in a starting profile. Why? E3D 40w cartridge is lame. Want to print hotter and faster? Buy something else. 8 bit is only for weenies. The faster I print the more I can see the limitations of the current architecture and how I almost wish I'd thrown this on the duet mk3s bear since it would yawn at what I'm trying to do here.

My main culprits are acceleration and jerk. I can print fast with low acceleration and jerk settings because it has time to ramp up and down without causing any major motion issues. When I do ramp those settings jitterbug dancing begins to destroy my print quality. Compared to cranking the duet the quality is better on it fast but my hotend can't keep up. I think the real benefit any casual MK3 user will see isprinting at regular speeds but with big nozzles and fat layers where the volcano style nozzles are truly made to work with.

So what do I do??? I don't want to give up but I may need to call in some experts. I think it's time to toss klipper on this to handle the fast motion. It's come down to learning something new again. Yay!!!!!

I'll report back on my inevitable klipper transition on the mosquito Magnum bondtech but I'll take the time to process a few more profiles for it stock focusing on a quality then a medium speed profile for pla and petg before jumping ship to see what the full potential really is. I'll also swap in my 0.6, 0.8, add 1.0mm nozzles on the Magnum and have profiles ready as well since that's what ask this melting power will really give us is dependable print speeds with big boy layers!
