Not all CF PETG are alike.

Top we have my all time favorite, a 9.5/10 material, Atomic CF PETG. Why do I like it so much?? It prints way better than regular Petg. Strings less, layering is beautiful, definition is still very high, parts are stronger, bridging is excellent, and are far less flexible than regular Petg. It’s the ultimate functional part material that isn’t CF Nylon in my books and you don’t need a special bed material or an enclosure to print well.

Below we have Filamentone CF PETG. I give this an 8/10. Why? It has the typical heavy handed CF added which causes what I call fluffy CF printing. The parts are definitely stiffer but at a loss in layer adhesion, a very coarse texture, bridging is sacrificed and printability is lowered. Why? The more CF you add the more you have to worry about over extrusion. It becomes a sticky mess and will clump far greater than Petg with lighter loaded CF material.

Basically once you pass a certain amount of CF material in PETG the benefits don’t continue to stack as well. A little bit makes the Petg stiffer which is what we want and also increases printing quality but eventually you loose printability, quality, and increase the chance of poor layer adhesion as you increase the CF.

Hopefully this helps you on your next round of material purchasing
