Clogs.
When you get heavily packed CF material sometimes you’ll get patches or clumps of CF that just won’t extrude. I’ve had every brand I’ve used heavily have this happen. Mind you in all my use of Atomic I’ve had it happen once in 26kg. 3dxtech was 1 out of 5, colorfabb was 1 out 3. It happens.
From my talks with filament makers making CF material is difficult. You basically take the CF particles and extrude at 3mm and continue chipping it up and extrude it over and over again to get it mixed well. Once it’s been mixed enough it’s extruded once again and and made into the final pellets to be extruded for the diameter it’s meant for.
How do you fix this? Sadly an atomic pull won’t work. The material won’t stick to this clump well. It’ll just keep grabbing a little bit or not at all. It’s time for a nozzle removal. Heat the nozzle with torch while holding it with pliers and insert cleaning filament and keep grabbing the grossness till you finally get it all cleared.
Always always have cleaning filament. It’ll save you so much hell let me tell you.
