Help me pick a name.
Added 2019-04-16 02:06:28 +0000 UTCIf you haven't heard I've nearly completed a vanilla Marlin firmware for the Einsy retro board. Why? It's the better board.
I'd like to come up with a build name. As you can see over picked X which is actually a thing. There was a MK2x that was a bunch of upgrades and what not to the Mk2s.
What I'm making here is a firmware to help users with the mk2.5 and MK2s move into silent stepping with as little work as possible.
The einsy retro has the same capability as the standard einsy in the MK3 but it has power on rails to the fans and such. So no more 5V fans. If you have a MK2s or MK2.5 you can swap the board with this firmware and keep your 12V fans or move to a 24V powersupply and upgrade to 24V fans.
Other features:
You can keep the pinda or upgrade to a bltouch. You can use your mechanical endstops or use sensorless homing like the MK3. You cab have all the new Marlon features like linear advance 1.5, s curve acceleration, mesh fade, and so on.
The possibility to have a system with better features exists and the firmware is ready! I'm going to build a custom MK3 using this board and firmware and then tweak the firmware till it sings. After that I'll release a few different versions for coming setups plus the source so humans can edit it and have their own custom printer. Want a filament sensor? Just add it and change a few lines in code. Boom.
So help me with a name. Maybe MKx or something else. Who knows. Put your idea in the comments.
