Macros!
Basically Duet runs on gcode. Everything is gcode. Your firmware? Gcode. Duet allows you to make macros made up of gcode which I used to create something that is basically Calibrate Z on the MK3.
Using gcode commands I home, move the extruder and bed to center, raise Z to 205mm, lower motor current to 30% of what it's set to, then raise Z by 20mm slowly to level the gantry. It then homes and finishes everything.
You can use this to do a lot of amazing things. You cab setup a macro to probe the farthest points on the X axis giving you a skew and then using both Z motors correct for a bed that's high on one side and low on another.
Want a live Z type first layer calibration? Done. Want to make a fancy dance of all the axes you can do that.
It makes doing cool things almost easy. Almost. You still have to know what you want to do and how but it's there for the most part.
