Hehehe, I can imagine how Mon-La is gonna be a little annoyed with being a mother yet again. She is perhaps perplexed that it was so easy for the father of the child to impregnate her. She might be even more annoyed that the wise women in her clan predicts that she is carrying a son.

Her clan is amazon like, so they rarely mingle with “manlings” as they call them. If they want a babe, they need not to marry. They simply walk to the nearest settlement with men, find a proper and willing mate, and they rarely - if ever, have any trouble convincing them to have a fun time with them.

They then leave the men high and dry and never inform them of their progeny.

Now having daughters is all good and well in their society, but sons… oh boy, that is… rather annoying. Not that the children wont be loved and cared for, it’s just… embarrassing for Mon-La as she had hoped for a daughter… or perhaps that she had grown too old to carry any more children… alas… it is what it is.

Her stance and position has me sorta imagining a scene where she stands by her throne and has an old friend come to her asking her to bestow a kiss on the pregnant belly containing the heir to their Queendom.

Mon-La annoyed rolls her eyes: “If you feel you must, dear sister, then by all means… bless the belly carrying your future ruler.”
