Fun Fat Fact : The Fatphobic Elevator

So, I went to a shopping mall in my town with a friend, for a specific shop, I wanted to use the elevator for the 7th floor. 4 women were waiting with me and my friend in the hall.

An elevator came to our floor, the door opened and we entered inside.
I was the second to last to enter in the cabin, just before my friend. The elevator shook a little and it moved a few centimeters below the floor, then it blocked.
We waited a little.

The elevator had a 8 people and 600 kg / 1323 lbs capacity so technically, there is no problem concerning the total weight.

One of the women pushed on a floor button, but nothing happened. I pushed on the closing doors button, in vain.

The cabin was blocked.
A few seconds passed, and the oldest woman (she was around 55 years old) looked badly on me.
She said : "Oh, you know, i'm used to this elevator, it will not move if we are more than 4 people."
I answered "Oh, really ?"
The old woman insist on this point. For her, I was just too much for the cabin.

I knew she was lying, because elevators don't care about the number of people inside the cabins, it is about weight. The cabin will not move if the weight capacity is reached. But, in this situation, we were about 350 kg in the cabin, nothing more.

I decided to return in the hall. My friend followed me.
The elevator did not move at all, but, a few seconds later, the cabin door closed and the elevator climbed to the other floors...

My friend was shocked because of the old woman reaction, she wasn't very polite with me.
I wasn't shocked, I was mostly annoyed.

I called the elevator. It came back. We tried again to climb in the cabin, just me and my friend. Just like the other time, the elevator moved a few centimeters lower than the floor and nothing happened. It blocked again.

Clearly, that was weird, the cabin was lighter than the first try, and it is still blocked.
I came out of the cabin, my friend stayed and the doors closed.
The elevator moved to the 7th floor.
I was very annoyed by this situation. I climbed a floor and called the elevator cabin AGAIN.

It came back, and I entered alone in the cab. For the first time, it worked ! I was reassured and reached the selected floor. It was at this moment I took this picture.

So, what do you think about this weird case ?
Am I fatter than I excepted ?
Is the elevator Fatphobic ? Hahaha
