I found out from the rehabber I had dropped them off with, that both of them have passed today. She has much more experience then me with squirrels and she isn’t sure what caused the issue. Perhaps a virus caused their decline so quickly...
It’s strange, I’m sure many people wouldn’t understand why I would be upset I barely had them..
I love rehabbing but it’s so emotional hard and draining. I invest so much in raising them and the stresses that accompany that and then the anxiety of release and everything that comes with that. It’s so rewarding but can hurt so muc.
i can’t help but feel that the reason Leia passed is she realized her brother had passed and she was devastated. They were SO close, more then other siblings I have seen..
