1940s Harley

How fun! I don’t think I have shared these.

Sorry for the low res, I was digging through my Facebook and found these shots. I have kind of forgotten these photos, which is a shame cause I shot a lot with this guy in 2008-2011 (if you want to quick recap what happened jump below) if you want to avoid drama. Just enjoy these photos. This was a fun group, we had about 10 girls all doing 1940s Batman villains. My design was based on a drawing by Idleambition. I’ll try to find high res though I might not have them anymore

Photo drama: These were also taken by the photographer I told you some of you about in a previous post, who was my friend. Around the time Heroes of cosplay came out, I asked him if he would sign a photographer release, he did. Then without telling me, He then sold the rights to all my photos to another photographer, revoked all my print rights (even though we had an agreement). Then new photographer who has nothing to do with the photos proceeded to sue SYFY, for MY WORK, for 30k (supposedly) bragged about it, dragged mine and other names through the mud (and the show).

It does suck cause while he took the photo I put a ton of effort into the costume, the concept, the location, the hair, the makeup and the post processing.

That’s why I don’t agree with the idea that the photographer owns the photo. I think it’s an old fashion concept and needs to be a case by case basis. Especially when it comes to cosplay.

Also a shame cause this location was a very cool prison farm which was torn down a year or two later so I could never shoot there again.

So after the big blow up regarding these photos I never post them on social media anymore. I don’t want to share his work without telling the story behind it. It’s this situation that makes me so weary of photographers so that’s why I don’t take many new photos. I was so hurt on so many levels.
