I thought a part of this song fits Jonny's insecurity quite well. To Jonny, people who matter to him seemed to always leave him and he blames himself for it. (More about that later) This past fumed the conflict with Garrett, and Dustin pissing him off right before the conversation certainly didnβt help. But this topic gave Jonny a chance to fully trust someone again and he is trying to. Hopefully Garrett can keep these promises. π¬
Also, don't give me side eyes for choosing yet another Ben Platt's song (also a Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack). You know this is bound to happen lol.
